Job Description

Are you a communication wizard? Do you have a talent for engaging others, and are you looking to gain experience in an international organization working with highly passionate and talented colleagues? Then this Student Assistant position in the Crew Engagement team at Maersk may be something for you.

We are looking for a Student Assistant who is passionate about making a difference, thrives in an international, fast-changing environment, and can quickly convert tasks into action. You will join the Crew Engagement team, which means your closest colleagues will be the entire Marine People Strategy team and the Marine People and Culture department, within Fleet Management & Technology (FMT), where we work with Maersk’s biggest asset: our vessels and the people who operate them. We have embarked on a large transformation journey that spans from decarbonization to company culture, and crew welfare. We are dedicated to recognizing and addressing the unique needs of our crew, promoting engagement, mental health, wellbeing, inclusion, and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

You will be supporting a number of activities and deliverables, and your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and execution of events, both virtual and on-site
  • Creating and editing content for Newsletters, presentations and internal social media, including videos
  • Preparing material for both trainings and communication campaigns
  • Designing and updating SharePoint sites
  • Gathering, mapping and analyzing key data from various sources

What we offer

  • A unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global company shaping the future of logistics
  • The opportunity to engage with around 500 FMT colleagues across Europe, India, the Philippines, and Singapore, and a fleet with close to 13,000 seafarers sailing across the world.
  • You will learn a lot about life at sea, get insights into our ongoing cultural transformation, get closer to our company’s efforts to decarbonize sea transport, and work with the people designing the world’s most modern container vessels.
  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment where your ideas are valued
  • Flexibility around exams and study commitments
  • A workplace where you grow professionally while still being a student

The ideal candidate:

  • Currently studying in your first year of a Master’s Degree or last year of Bachelor’s degree within Business Administration, Marketing, Communication or similar. The most important thing is that you have an interest in Engagement and Communication.
  • Excellent academic performance
  • Humble and enthusiastic approach towards handling both basic and more complex project tasks
  • Comfortable communicating to different stakeholder groups, both orally and in writing
  • Proactive, able to take ownership, work independently, and achieve results
  • A team player who understands the importance of stakeholder management
  • Detail-oriented, structured, excellent writer and editor, interested in learning new technologies, and comfortable working on various digital platforms (Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint, etc)
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is a must

The expected workload is 20 hours per week, with flexibility in relation to school and exams. The team is based at Maersk’s campus at Hub5 in Nordhavn.

We will review applications on an ongoing basis.

Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
