Software Engineer – Global Data Analytics, Technology (Maersk)


This position will be based in India – Bangalore/Pune

The Brief

This role is in the Maersk Global Data & Analytics (GDA) platform organization. This organization is at the forefront of developing cutting edge technologies to improve data quality, analytics, ML & AI capabilities. This team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems, and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure, thereby enabling Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting, and simplifying customers’ supply chains.
The Software Engineer is a very important role demonstrating both depth and breadth across key engineering competencies, e.g., Systems Design and Architecture, Software Development, Testing, DevOps, Security, Analytics, Lifecycle Management, etc. and successfully collaborate with experts from other subject domains.

What I'll be doing – your accountabilities?

  • Lead all aspects of Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) in-line with Agile and IT craftsmanship principles
  • Constantly learn technologies and mentor teams, be a leader & drive the culture of researching & implementing in products
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture & solutions
  • Write secure, scalable & clean code along with unit tests
  • Perform code reviews and ensure the quality of code, constantly!
  • Develop and manage well-functioning UI, backend services, databases/pipelines
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software & infrastructure. Thrive in a DevOps culture where we build & support the application E2E

Technical Skills

  • JavaScript and relevant frameworks React, Vue, Node
  • Java (version 11 or higher), TDD, BDD, Reactive programming & framework
  • Spring ecosystem (Core, MVC, JPA, Transaction Management, Security, AOP, Spring Batch)
  • SOA/Microservices (REST, SOAP)
  • Messaging & Pub-Sub technologies (MQ, Kafka), SOA/Microservices (REST, SOAP)
  • Writing complex SQL scripts
  • Relational & non-relational databases, writing complex SQL scripts
  • Tomcat/Weblogic servers, serverless (cloud) deployment, Kubernetes/Docker
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps
  • Building applications using cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
  • Creating Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

Preferred

  • Azure Developer certification
  • Experience of Master Data Management (MDM) domain & related tools (e.g., Informatica)
  • Experience with Elastic Search / ELK stack, Python

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience with excellent programming & soft skills.
  • Batchelor's degree in engineering or master’s degree in computer science / relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a must.
