Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximizing the impact of transactional sales through effective probing and lead qualification.
- Providing a personalized service and building relationships with customers.
- Tracking competitor information and market trends and suggesting required action.
- Formulating and managing service contracts with customers.
- Communicating service or rate changes, notable trends, policies, and other relevant information to assigned accounts.
- Assisting with processing price quotes and rate negotiations.
- Researching and analyzing competitive and industry trends.
- Ensuring customer relationship management tools are updated (Salesforce.com) on time and are of excellent quality.
- Register and track all pricing opportunities, rate requests, leads in applicable systems
- Assisting with reporting and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Timely processing of pricing & rate quote requests.
Position Specifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience with Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain Logistics, Business Administration or comparable concentrations preferred.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Teams, Power BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); web-based software; and customer relationship management tools, such as Salesforce.com.
- General knowledge of shipping industry and Federal Government structure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Flexible team player able to adapt to dynamic business needs.
- Self-starter who can take initiative in achieving objectives, meeting development goals, and recommending improvements.
- Analytical skills to deliver problem-solving solutions.
- Freight forwarding and/or account management experience a plus.
- Strong personal integrity and accountability a must.
