About the Role

Maersk is seeking a passionate and experienced Regional Safety & Resilience Governance Manager who is eager to drive our European S&R initiatives, ensuring robust governance, consistent implementation of global standards, and effective delivery of key S&R programs across the region. In this role you will be part of the European S&R Leadership team, consisting of very dedicated and passionate colleagues. You'll be the trusted advisor to the team, focusing on program and project management, a strong safety culture, and rigorous operations execution and monitoring in a fast-paced environment.

This is the ideal role for someone who is skilled in QHSSE risk management, experienced in solving challenging problems in a large, complex business, and who is obsessed with data and insights, experimenting and iterating to achieve operational excellence.

This role will report directly to the Regional Head of Safety & Resilience, Europe, and will be primarily based in Poland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Regional Projects: Drive planning and delivery of regional S&R initiatives, ensuring alignment with global standards, timelines, and priorities.
  • New Site Readiness & Launch: Lead S&R readiness for new site launches, supporting risk assessments, compliance checks, and smooth integration into regional S&R programs.
  • Performance & Improvement: Monitor S&R KPIs, analyse data, and lead continuous improvement of regional programs and processes.
  • Governance & Standardization: Implement governance frameworks and standardize tools, templates, and procedures to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Strategic Alignment: Align regional plans with the global S&R strategy, providing insights and advocating for local needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure strong coordination across Global, Regional, and Area teams for seamless execution of S&R initiatives.
  • Training & Capability Building: Deliver training programs and support onboarding to build S&R knowledge and leadership at all levels.
  • Data & Reporting: Manage regional reporting, ensuring accurate data, regulatory compliance, and actionable insights.
  • Risk & Compliance: Support risk mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory and internal standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in QHSSE program/project management, preferably in logistics/supply chain.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly at all levels.
  • Experience creating standards, procedures, and contributing to project playbooks, schedules, and stakeholder management.
  • Business acumen and analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about learning and growth.
  • Team player, comfortable in a global, matrixed organization, and willing to dive into details.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Degree in safety, industrial engineering, quality, or related field.
  • NEBOSH, CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification (or working towards).
  • Proficient with technology and data tools to drive process improvements i.e., tech-savvy skills.

Additional Information

  • Travel within Europe required, as needed, to support operations and initiatives.
