Rate Maintenance Manager

Leads regional pricing and surcharge filing processes to ensure compliance, optimize revenue, and enable efficient commercial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and maintain market rate price setting and surcharge filing with speed and quality.

• Partner with Ocean Product, Ocean Surcharge, and Functional Platform Owner teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with Federal Maritime Commission, Safety, Security & Environment and other government filing regulations across all pricing activities.

• Maintain and optimize pricing and surcharge database size to ensure system performance and cost efficiency.

• Provide pricing and surcharge analytics to commercial teams for decision-making and revenue management.

• Collaborate with platform teams on process and system launches to enable automation and scalability.

Accountabilities

• Accurate and timely execution of market rate pricing and surcharge filings in compliance with Federal Maritime Commission and other government regulations.​

• Optimization and simplification of pricing and surcharge processes in collaboration with Ocean Product and Functional Platform Owner teams.​

• Delivery of actionable pricing and surcharge insights to commercial and platform teams to support revenue growth.​

• Talent management and development of team members to build capability and engagement.

Required qualification, experience & skills

• Master's or bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Customer Service, Pricing, Tender Management, Contract Management, and Performance Management, with a strong customer-centric mindset.

• Minimum 6 years of experience leading and managing teams, with a proven track record of driving performance and operational excellence.

• The position requires excellent written and spoken English skills

• Ability to work under pressure - with high sense of urgency

• Knowledge of Pricing Quoting, Contracting and shipping industry

• Look for continuous improvement areas.

• Active engagement in transformation initiatives & team management

Required Business/ Technical Knowledge

• Team leadership and ability to engage, coach, and develop talent.​

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.​

• Deep understanding of pricing strategies, surcharge structures, and regulatory compliance in logistics.​

• Analytical and data science skills for pricing optimization and insights generation.​

• Enterprise thinking with ability to balance regional/area priorities and global standards.​

• Knowledge of revenue management principles and experience in pricing systems and tools.
