Project Logistics is a specialized area within the logistics industry that demands an integrated, end-to-end approach to managing the global movement of materials. This includes order management and shipment execution from multiple origins to designated site locations. The scope includes transportation of standard cargo, out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo, and sensitive materials across Ocean, Air, and Land modes—all delivered in full, on time, and in the correct sequence according to the customer’s project schedule.
At Maersk, our Project Logistics team combines traditional freight forwarding with specialized skills in complex project planning, transport engineering, procurement, and HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) compliance. Our experts are highly experienced in designing project transport solutions, managing special cargo, and executing end-to-end project management for deliveries to remote and logistically challenging destinations.
By leveraging Maersk’s global network, operational control, and advanced logistics capabilities, we provide customers with reliable, resilient, and efficient project logistics outcomes.
Purpose of the role
Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
Optimize supply chain processes, manage stakeholders, and drive efficiency in transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Lead the operation agent to fulfill the operation task in both service and cost commitment.
Support the operation manager to achieve the tasks and targets.
Key responsibilities
Project Management: Plan, execute and monitor logistics projects, define objectives, service scope, and deliverables.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with growth, procurement, warehousing, transportation and the other Maersk internal stakeholders.
Team Work: Define tasks aligned with each operation agent's strengths, ensuring accountability and efficiency. Cooperate with the other project managers for mutual benefit for backup purpose.
Risk Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, code of conduct and environmental regulations.
Vendor Relations and management: Negotiate contracts, manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and monitor service quality.
Process Optimization: Continue the improvement on the service lead time and cost optimization by previewing /reviewing the operation SOP and setting up the basic and standard operation procedure.
Documentation: Maintain project records for internal study and external presentation.
We are looking for:
Required qualification, experience & skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
Proficiency in booking process in multiple shipping line systems.
Good communication and leadership abilities.
Fluent English in both oral and written.
Knowledge of data analysis tools (Excel, CW).
Required Business/ Technical Knowledge
7 to 10 years of relevant working experience in international sea freight export logistics with at least 3 years in management role.
Proficient in the entire export process of international sea freight (full container FCL/less than container LCL/breakbulk on container vessel), familiar with the operation standards of each link such as booking space, trucking, customs declaration, inspection declaration, customs clearance at the destination port and delivery.
Ability to sort out and establish operational SOP processes and the awareness of talent cultivation.
Breakbulk operation experience preferred.
Adapt to business trip, site job and customer visit if needed.
