Procurement Associate

Procurement Associate is responsible for all the inventory and non-inventory, supplies, services and Capital Goods including negotiating price, delivery and credit terms.

Location: Poti, Georgia
Position reports to: Procurement Manager


Key Responsibilities:


• Procurement of inventory and non-inventory goods, capital equipment and service following established procurement policies and procedures.
• Receive purchase requisitions and verify for accuracy and authorization.
• Arrange tender procedures, receive bids, coordinate with demand owners to evaluate, assess and select the bidders based on capabilities and written criteria.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders.
• Control Supplier’s performance and Quality of the Goods and Services and their delivery time.
• Manage contracts in collaboration of company’s legal counsel.
• Ensure that adequate stock of key components are maintained in the stores to make sure there is no downtime in operational activity due to lack of stock; the position is expected to deliver results in a timely manner as non-delivery has direct impact on the terminal’s ability to function.

• Analyze and strive to maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, availability, and capacity, technology, and supplier capabilities.

• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers; evaluate, assess and select vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality assurance; keep accurate vendor report.
• Constant focus on continuous improvement to consolidate Suppliers and Goods/Services procured and as a result conclude annual frame agreements.

We Are Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience & Skills
• Proven working experience in a similar position is required, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry (not mandatory).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Georgian and English are mandatory.
• Strong experience in managing and using inventory control systems.
• Good knowledge of contract laws and conditions.
• Solid cost/price analysis skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (IFS is preferred).
