Job Description

Would you like to be part of a value-driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? We have an opportunity for a Project Director to join our Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) team in Kigali, Rwanda on a contract basis.

The MPL Project Director will be the primary point of contact for own customers and ensure smooth execution of the end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including the inland delivery, by working closely with the customer as well as internal stakeholders. You will be fully responsible for customer satisfaction across Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) product offering (own customers). Additionally, you be responsible for managing people and processes to execute designed project solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for operational excellence across MPL product family and transport modes to meet customer deliverables.

  • Partner with commercial, growth enablement, QHSE and procurement to aid in the strategic development of the customer.

  • Establish and track goals, metrics, and indicators for success for the MPL project.

  • Demonstrate adaptability for market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions and customer timelines to meet contractual terms.

  • Establish and foster data driven relationships with clients focusing on joint strategic vision and initiatives aligned to global MPL growth strategies.

  • Accountable for the internal implementation of the customer solution, ensuring reporting structure, QHSE requirements and continuous improvement loops embedded in organization.

  • Effective independent judgment to set priorities and work independently.

  • Drive operational excellence across teams.

  • Identify and hold operational leadership accountable to customer program deliverables.

  • Identify value added solutions for the customer and Maersk.

  • Represent the account(s) during business implementation and execution, including onboarding of new Maersk product portfolio, collaborating with internal project owners accordingly.

  • Responsible for identifying and reducing program operating costs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Someone with:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or logistics or related field

  • Extensive executional experience across all transport modes; ocean/air/rail/truck/barge to include OOG cargo.

  • Proven project management experience

  • Skilled in customer facing engagements and presentations

  • Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, product(s), and internal stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills
