Maersk Fleet Management and Technology (FMT) is looking for a Marine Environment and Regulatory Manager who will help drive the marine regulatory compliance, environmental policies and guidance for its global fleet.
About the role
Maersk Fleet Management and Technology (FMT) is looking for a Marine Environment and Regulatory Manager to help drive maritime regulatory compliance and environmental policies for our global fleet.
FMT oversees the safe and efficient operation of the Maersk fleet, supported by 13,000+ seafarers and global teams across Denmark, Singapore, and India.
As part of the Fleet Environmental and Regulatory team, you will be front and center in these exciting times where new maritime and environmental regulations are shaping the future of the shipping industry. Green fuels & technologies, vessel safety, marine environment & ecosystems are some of the areas where you will work alongside experts in the field to influence and implement change.
We offer
An exciting position based in Copenhagen where you will be driving the maritime regulatory compliance across the Maersk fleet and bringing regulatory insights to co-create value and sustainable change. You will report into the Head of Fleet Environment and Regulatory Affairs and work alongside a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to marine regulatory compliance under International, EU and regional regulations and the Environmental Management System
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain fleet policies, procedures, and guidance on regulatory matters
- Support fuel emissions reporting, EU-CSRD, and other mandatory reporting requirements
- Maintain an overview of regulatory development and advise fleet and shore-based teams, as needed.
- Engage with authorities (Class and Flag) to support certification and operational readiness
- Lead or contribute to projects on marine biodiversity, ocean environmental impact, green fuels, and circular economy
- Collaborate across Maersk business units to align on environmental policies and initiatives
- Support stakeholder engagement and target setting
We are looking for
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and legislations, international regulatory framework, and shipping industry experience.
- Sea-going experience as a Nautical or Engine Officer is an advantage
- Structured and process-oriented approach, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience managing or contributing to projects
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
- Confidence working with complex topics, supported by analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with risk assessment is a plus
- Clear communication skills in English with a flair for public speaking
