Job Description
Maersk Air Cargo is on an exciting growth journey, playing a key role in transforming how global supply chains move. As part of Maersk’s integrated logistics offering, we are building a high-performance airline operation where reliability, speed, and precision are everything—and our iOCC is at the heart of making it happen.
Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of Maersk Air Cargo’s Integrated Operations Control Centre (iOCC). You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our network by leading real-time decision-making and coordinating closely with key operational functions. This is a hands-on operational leadership role, where you will directly manage controllers and oversee live operations, ensuring disruptions are handled effectively and performance targets are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery & Control
- Lead the daily operation of the iOCC, ensuring smooth 24/7 execution of the flying programme
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and disruptions
- Make real-time operational decisions to protect schedule integrity and minimise delays and cancellations
- Monitor and manage key KPIs such as on-time performance, completion factor, and aircraft utilisation
Disruption Management (IROPs)
- Take ownership of irregular operations, coordinating recovery plans across crew, maintenance, and network
- Ensure timely, pragmatic decision-making to minimise operational and customer impact
- Apply structured approaches to disruption recovery in a fast-paced environment
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Flight Ops, CAMO, Part-145 Maintenance, Crew Control, and Ground Operations
- Ensure effective coordination and information flow between all operational stakeholders
- Balance operational constraints with commercial priorities
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of iOCC controllers and specialists in a shift-based environment
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to ensure strong individual and team performance
- Drive accountability, engagement, and a safety-first culture
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all operations are conducted in full compliance with EASA regulations and internal procedures
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture and reporting mindset. Support investigations and implementation of corrective actions where required
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on operational performance, identifying improvement opportunities
- Support the implementation of process improvements and operational best practices
- Contribute to enhancing iOCC procedures, tools, and ways of working
What we're looking for
- Solid experience in an airline OCC/iOCC or operational control environment
- Good understanding of flight operations, crew planning, and maintenance coordination
- Good understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks and international aviation standards
- Experience managing real-time operations and disruption recovery
- Proven people leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience contributing to or leading the development of operational teams, including defining competency frameworks, training standards, and career progression pathways
- Demonstrated experience in building, scaling, or maturing an OCC/iOCC function, with the ability to introduce structure, governance, and clear ways of working
- Familiarity with tools such as Jeppesen (OPS/JDM), LIDO, or similar systems
