SUMMARY
Work with the Area Operations leader to set the strategic direction for LCL Operations. Structure, staff and manage the Area or Country LCL Operations team to run the LCL business efficiently in accordance to defined product commitments. Build an engaged organization with continuous development of all individuals’ skills and identify talent potential to coach on an expedited development trajectory. Lead LCL teams on Maersk’s transformation journey through adoption of new ways of working with an emphasis on digital-driven habits internally and with customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive LCL Operations functional outcomes
Set and lead teams through clearly defined annual targets rooted in objectives balancing quality, cost and consistency.
Monitor service quality of LCL Operations across customers and routings (MLC, Hub/Gateway, Co-load), including LTL (Less than Truckload) inland pick-up and Operations execution, and act on non-compliance to defined product or customer standards.
Ensure Operations teams provide speedy LCL order issue and exception resolution with CX.
Work with internal stakeholders to fine-tune all facets of running LCL Operations: Safety (HSSE), Control (Finance), Cost (Procurement), Product Standardization (Product / Sales), Process Efficiency (CI) etc.
Develop and sustain a capable LCL Operations organization
Build teams – directly or though team managers’ – with strong orientation towards delivering superior LCL customer quality as per the LCL product outcomes committed in OIPC
Identify / attract and retain talent and equip them with an ambitious learning plan; offering constant opportunities to practice innovation and change leadership. Provide regular coaching, ensure team engagement. Ensure LCL Operations team(s) are trained and practice in accordance with global standards for managing LCL orders, safety and local legal regulations.
Map local risks (structural, seasonal etc.) to develop and maintain business continuity plans.
Drive Cost to Serve focus
Work consistently to reduce cost to serve to remain competitive on both quality and cost in changing market conditions.
Manage LCL Operations capacity according to demand; plan for optimal mix of local Operations team, GSC and 3rd party operations.
Actively monitor and manage volume trajectory of customer base; work with CX and Sales to maximize utilized / profitable MLC network, reduce churn and expedite new and additional business conversion
Constantly feed timely market and customer information back to Product and Sales.
Drive Transformation
Ensure adoption of new platform go-live by removing roadblocks for team to smoothly execute business in new platforms and working with GPL to continuously improve adoption.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
2+ Years of experience in leadership role
3-5+ Years of operational knowledge and customer service in Logistics and Supply Chain, preferably in Ocean operations management position with a focus on LCL operations & planning.
Strong knowledge of driving standardization initiatives within LCL, and provide input on gaps in platforms, processes, automation etc.
Proven experience in KPI management and performance-driven environments.
Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and value creation.
Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment is an advantage.
Fluent in English
