Would you like to be part of a value-driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? We have an opportunity for an Integrated Sales Representative Cold Chain to join our team in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and delivering integrated logistics solutions to Cold Chain customers to drive business expansion and revenue growth in both Tanzania and Rwanda. The role requires deep knowledge of supply chain operations, especially the time-critical nature of cargo movement, and the ability to align customer needs with Maersk’s global shipping and logistics services, making a tangible impact on our customers’ supply chains.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Cold Chain Logistics, Contract Logistics, Landside Transportation, Booking Services, Customs House Brokerage and any additional services that Maersk offers.
Develop tailored solutions for customers with time-sensitive cargo requirements.
Grow the share of wallet for existing Maersk Cold Chain customers.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build long-term partnerships with clients by understanding their supply chain challenges and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication on significant trends, rate changes and policies for your assigned accounts.
Sales Execution:
Achieve Revenue (Logistics and Services) and volume (Ocean) targets under the assigned account base in line with the company’s objectives.
Develop a Sales pipeline for Ocean and Logistics opportunities with proper filing of events and business opportunities in the system.
Develop structures, sales plans and pursuit account plans for target customers in your assigned portfolio.
Develop strong Sales performance management through Salesforce.
Operational Collaboration:
Work closely with operations teams and across functions to ensure smooth cargo handling and on-time delivery.
Follow up on implementation of new accounts as the Sales owner, ensuring that no business is lost in implementation.
Monitor shipment performance and proactively resolve issues.
Market Intelligence.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
Probe and identify customer needs and provide solutions.
Skills that will make you successful in this role:
Logistics Expertise
Strong understanding of global supply chains, ocean freight, and cold chain logistics.
Ability to manage time-sensitive cargo and mitigate risks in transit.
Sales Acumen
Proven track record in business-to-business sales, preferably in shipping, logistics, or transportation.
Skilled in consultative/value selling and solution-based approaches.
Independent action as well as an entrepreneurial mindset and commitment
Communication & Negotiation
Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Strong communication skills
Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
Analytical & Problem-Solving
Ability to analyse customer needs and propose effective logistics solutions.
Quick decision-making under pressure, especially in urgent cargo situations.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Someone with:
Relevant bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or sales roles with broad market knowledge.
Handling of time and temperature sensitive cargo experience is an added advantage
Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM tools is an added advantage
Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal effectively with ambiguity
