Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Our facilities are capable of receiving, storing, processing and dispatching cargo, so we can build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process. Our integrated solutions allow us to be prepared for supply chain risks, so we can plan distribution to better achieve lead time and goals despite unexpected conditions. Location- This is a remote position that will be based out of CA, NJ, or NC. The role will consist of 40% traveling throughout the year.

Summary: Provide sales leadership to develop and support new and existing business for warehousing solutions within North America (NAM) Responsibilities include the identification, value proposition, and sales of all warehouse solutions, offering an integrated approach in synergy with the related account teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop compelling, sustainable, mutually- beneficial integrated service offerings consistent with Maersk strategies.
  • Ensure execution of sales plans/programs, build a pipeline, identify and prioritize sales targets, responsible for overall achievement of sales objectives for all relevant verticals.
  • Direct and control preparations to determine pursuit approach, client proposals, solution structure and sales tactics to achieve sales goals.
  • Identify specific accounts and opportunities as targets. Provides initiative oversight and supports sales resources to develop projects and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Commercial to identify business that compliments the core service offerings.
  • Critically evaluate business propositions and recommend short- and long-term strategies, highlight deficiencies or impediments to business development.
  • Negotiate with customers and stakeholders to ensure completion of a final contract.
  • Seek out, target and initiate contact with prospective customers within assigned markets. Develop network of contacts, qualify, and assess targeted accounts with inputs from Maersk Commercial Teams.
  • Monitor Outstanding Proposals and adherence to agreed contractual credit terms.
  • Build influential partnering relationships; establish multi-level contact points with key clients.
  • Collaborate and build good working partnership with Operations, Finance, and facility management teams. Fully understand customer’s goals, objectives, and business needs. Target solutions based on customer’s requirements; recommend strategies that serve the customer’s business objective and ensure differentiation of Maersk from competitors.
  • Deliver budgets that help achieve high utilization of Maersk assets.
  • Work closely with Marketing to monitor and analyze market trends and competitive issues.
  • Monitor and share market feedback with Maersk leadership. Identify performance and/or product gaps and address with Maersk leadership.
  • Participate in joint customer visits with Maersk Commercial.
  • Analyze and interpret data and develop clear and informative methods to present operational information, for all Fulfilment projects and focused engineering to execute on startup operations.
  • Track competitor and industry trends, ensure best practice implementation.
  • Effectively represent Maersk in interactions with external stakeholders, including customers and professional associations and represent department in internal meetings, when required
  • Ensure compliance with Maersk values and federal, state and local laws & regulations

Position Specifications:

Education and Experience

  • BA / BS
  • Master’s degree preferred and or higher degree of education
  • 8 years in roles with a similar growth enablement goal and 3 years on industry related experience.

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

  • Strong understanding of warehousing solutions design.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative mindset.
  • A strategic vision, strong analytical ability, good judgment and excellent operational focus including an understanding of warehouse management systems.
  • Excellent consultative selling skills; ability to identify customer needs and translate into customer solutions
  • Superb communication skills: can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses.
  • Proven record of customer management and ability to develop relationships
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility, manage resources effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills, strong cultural awareness.
  • Strong and current knowledge of Sales technology platforms, including Sales Force.

Pay Range:

$125,000-$135,000

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
