CHB MCS Japan Agent

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct MCS task as outlined and workflow and SOP

  • Manage MCS shipments and associated data

  • Create MCS shipments in local MCS system Toss

  • Verify minimum documentation required for customs clearance

  • Tie up documentation against packing list, commercial invoice, CoO and other required MCS documentation.

  • Follow up with MCS team for any missing documentation or verification required

  • Load documentation into local MCS system(s).

  • Update local MCS systems notes of shipment communications within internal teams, including document verifications and follow up.

  • Update local Japan MCS Toss system with shipment details from commercial documents.

  • Prepare the customs declaration ready for submission.

  • Update local MCS systems of milestones.

  • Daily communication with MCS Manager to review shipment status, training requirements, troubleshooting.

  • Managing email document communication with Customer Service (CX) and MCS teams.

  • Manage KPI for allocated tasks

  • Participate and engage in MCS department meetings.

  • Innovation and automation solutions for enhanced MCS tasks

  • Ensure Performance/Dashboard index based on specific service level agreements

Required soft skills:

Customs & compliance centric mindset: understand the importance of commercial documents, ETA and related

KPI’s.

  • Persistency: prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines, work insistently to ensure the right outcomes for the customer and Maersk

  • Proactive driver of improvement opportunities

  • Proven track-record of successful solutions

  • Root Cause Analysis, Complaint Handling & Resolution

  • Critical thinking

Required hard skills:

Microsoft Office

Customs License

Customs Knowledge

Required experience and qualifications:

  • B.S Customs Degree

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience within MCS environment.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Experience within Japan Toss MCS vendor system

  • Strong communication skills in English

  • In-depth knowledge and experience within MCS operational task, and documentation – CIV, Packing List, OBL, CoO, other documents

  • Strong communication skills, he or she will engage within CX & MCS colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Ability to handle most situations independently, work under minimal supervision, but seeking guidance on when required.

  • Ability to challenge status quo, identify opportunities and drive improvements and deliver results.

  • Japanese language proficiency is an advantage

  • Fluent in in English.
