Job Description

Maersk and the Future of Air Cargo

At A.P. Moller - Maersk, we are transforming global trade through integrated logistics. By connecting ocean, air, inland transportation, warehousing and digital solutions into one seamless network, we help customers navigate increasingly complex supply chains with greater visibility, reliability and control.

Maersk Air Cargo plays a critical role in this transformation, providing customers with fast, reliable and flexible air freight solutions across our global logistics network. As we continue to invest in technology, operational excellence and data-driven decision making, we are building a world-class air cargo operation that delivers industry-leading service, resilience and performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Crew & Traffic Controller to join our Integrated Operations Control Centre (iOCC).

In this critical operational role, you will support the safe, compliant and efficient execution of Maersk Air Cargo flight operations through proactive crew and traffic control activities. You will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating operational activities across the network, ensuring that crew, aircraft and flight schedules are continuously managed to support safe, reliable and on-time performance while minimizing operational disruptions and associated costs.

Working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment, you will collaborate closely with Flight Crew, Crew Planning, Ground Operations, Maintenance Control and other operational stakeholders to maintain operational integrity across the Maersk Air Cargo network.

Key Responsibilities

As a Crew & Traffic Controller, you will:

  • Monitor and manage daily flight operations using operational systems such as FlightKeys, N-OC and other control platforms.
  • Monitor crew legality, qualifications, duty limitations and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate crew changes, recovery actions and operational replanning during disruptions.
  • Monitor aircraft movements and schedule execution to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support Operational Control activities across the Maersk Air Cargo network.
  • Coordinate closely with Flight Support, Ground Operations, Crew Planning, Maintenance Control and airport stakeholders.
  • Manage and mitigate operational disruptions including delays, diversions, weather events, ATC restrictions, aircraft changes and crew shortages.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of operational information to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain operational records, reporting and comprehensive shift handovers.
  • Support emergency response procedures and contingency operations when required.
  • Contribute to operational reliability, service performance and on-time delivery targets.
  • Identify operational risks and initiate appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Participate in disruption recovery planning and execution.
  • Support the efficient utilization of operational resources, including crew, aircraft and airport capacity.
  • Escalate significant operational issues when required and maintain network-wide situational awareness at all times.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of iOCC processes, procedures and systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within an Airline Operations Control Centre (OCC/iOCC), Crew Control, Crew Planning, Flight Dispatch or a similar operational environment.
  • Knowledge of airline operational processes and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with airline operational systems and control platforms.
  • Experience from military aviation, surveillance and control environments, rail traffic control or maritime traffic operations will also be considered valuable.
  • Strong understanding of crew management principles and disruption handling.
  • Experience with FlightKeys, N-OC or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Relevant aviation, logistics or operational qualifications are preferred.

Key Competencies

  • Strong operational awareness and situational judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a time-critical environment.
  • Excellent planning, coordination and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability and professionalism.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
