To succeed with our strategic ambitions, Maersk Air Cargo (MAC) plays a vital role in offering cargo transport by air for customers globally. In MAC we have vast experience as an air cargo and ACMI operator, currently operating and managing a fleet consisting of +/-20 Boeing freighters with bases in Cologne and Leipzig, Germany, and Billund, Denmark. The fleet of aircraft has recently been expanded with B777s to support our long-haul operation.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Management:

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy of Maersk Air Cargo, including budgeting, long term financial planning, capital planning and risk management.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual statutory financial statements and management reports.
  • Lead cross divisional business performance management driving focus on key metrics that drive the business and are indicative of future results. Implement and track corrective actions identified through performance management cycles.
  • Manage funding, tax, investments, insurance, and accounting in close coordination with relevant APMM group functions.
  • Ensure timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, auditors, and ensure compliance with regulations, laws and APMM accounting policies.

Transformation:

  • Provide thought leadership and execution expertise to drive finance transformation at Maersk Air Cargo by integrating business processes and systems with Maersk group to achieve synergies.
  • Drive cost leadership and innovation by identifying efficiencies and improving the margins and return on invested capital for the business.
  • Make operational excellence a way of working at Maersk Air Cargo and establish an operating rhythm for business performance and planning cycles.

Leadership

  • Attract and retain high performing finance talent
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the finance and accounting team
  • Consult with the Board of Directors and the CEO on strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding the company’s financial performance.

  • Highly analytical and proficient in handling large volume of financial information to drive business insights. Proficient in leading strategic planning and transformation initiatives.
