
Area Head of Direct Transport Sales (DTS)
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Area Head of Direct Transport Sales to lead our DTS Function and drive sustainable commercial growth across the area. Reporting to the Area Head of Sales, this role is responsible for delivering sales targets, expanding customer relationships, optimizing profitability and maximizing utilization across transport and logistics products. The enthusiastic individual will provide strategic leadership to the sales team, shape commercial plans based on market opportunities, drive customer centric initiatives and build a high performing sales organization that consistently delivers business results.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Commercial Performance
- Lead and direct the sales team to achieve volume, revenue and profitability targets aligned with the area budget
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to grow market share and increase product penetration across customer segments
- Drive short term utilization and maximize performance across transport and logistics offerings
- Partner with Sales Finance Business Partners to establish sales targets, incentives and performance measures
Shape Market and Business Strategy
- Analyze market trends, customer needs and asset utilization to identify growth opportunities
- Translate commercial insights into actionable business plans and sales campaigns
- Collaborate with Capacity and Campaign Management teams to formalize and execute commercial initiatives
Enhance Customer Experience
- Champion customer-centricity by driving improvements in customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Develop and implement local initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and retention
- Ensure customer feedback is translated into meaningful actions and business improvements
Lead Stakeholder Management
- Build strong partnerships with regional and global stakeholders across Sales, Customer Service, Product and Supply Chain functions
- Act as the voice of the customer, providing market feedback and commercial insights to product teams
- Support business development efforts by identifying and sharing opportunities across the network
Develop High Performing Teams
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Direct Transport Sales Representatives
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Build succession pipelines and talent development plans for critical sales roles
- Drive employee engagement and strengthen team capability to meet future business needs
What We're Looking For
- Proven leadership experience within sales, commercial management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or related industries
- Strong track record of delivering revenue growth, profitability, and commercial targets
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing sales teams
- Deep understanding of customer segments, market dynamics, and commercial strategy
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels
- Strong negotiation, business development and relationship management capabilities
- Data driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into commercial actions
- Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating with regional and global stakeholders is preferred
