APM Terminals
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities as per the maintenance schedule.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults in refrigeration equipment.
- Monitor system parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil levels, refrigerant levels, and compressor performance.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, abnormal vibrations, and equipment defects.
- Ensure compliance with ammonia handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and operating parameters.
- Supervise contractors during shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain inventory records.
- Participate in emergency response activities related to ammonia leakage or equipment failure.
- Implement energy-saving and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company safety standards.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Experience in food processing, cold storage, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing plants is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Screw and reciprocating compressors.
- Refrigeration control systems and PLC-based automation.
- Pumps, valves, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and heat exchangers.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Reading P&IDs and engineering drawings.
- Safety standards related to ammonia refrigeration.
