Lead with energy. Build with purpose. Grow with Maersk.
Are you a people-first leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment? Do you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, supporting your team through change, and bringing structure, clarity and momentum to complex operational work?
At Maersk Global Service Centre, we are building something exciting in the heart of Warsaw. As part of a global business with more than 100,000 employees across 130 countries, our newest GSC site in Poland plays a key role in supporting Maersk’s global logistics operations and commitment to operational excellence.
We are looking for an ATR Accounting Manager with German language skills to lead a team within our Accounting to Reporting function. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong general accounting knowledge with the leadership behaviours needed to guide people through change, ambiguity and the ad hoc nature of month-end and reporting cycles.
This role would suit a resilient, dynamic and hands-on leader — someone who brings positive energy, learning agility and the right behaviours to help people move forward together.
What You’ll Be Doing
As ATR Accounting Manager, you will lead daily operational activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for your business area or entity.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, coaching and supporting your team through daily operations, reporting cycles and change
- Ensuring accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting
- Maintaining financial data integrity across your assigned business area or entity
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements
- Partnering with Finance leadership and stakeholders to provide insights, updates and recommendations
- Identifying process gaps, performance issues or inefficiencies and helping drive practical improvements
- Creating clarity and focus for your team during busy or changing periods
- Getting involved directly where needed — supporting problem-solving, removing blockers and helping the team deliver
This is not a role for someone who wants to lead from a distance. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being close to the work, close to the people, and actively involved in helping the team succeed.
What We’re Looking For
We are open-minded about background and years of experience. While experience in Accounting to Reporting is important, we are especially interested in people who bring the right leadership mindset, behaviours and potential.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- Experience in Accounting to Reporting, general accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance operations environment
- Previous people leadership experience, ideally around 2 years or more
- Strong general accounting knowledge, including month-end close and reporting activities
- Understanding of local GAAP and IFRS; knowledge of German or Dutch GAAP would be an advantage
- Experience in a logistics, shared services, BPO, global business services or fast-paced operational environment would be highly beneficial
- Confidence communicating in both German and English with internal and external stakeholders
- SAP/S4HANA experience would be an advantage
Most importantly, you will bring the right attitude and leadership style.
The Leadership Style We Value
For this role, we are looking for someone who is:
- People-focused — able to engage, motivate and support a team
- Resilient — calm and constructive during busy reporting periods or changing priorities
- Hands-on — willing to get involved, do the leg work and help move things forward
- Change-positive — able to embrace change and bring others with them
- Agile and adaptable — comfortable with ad hoc requests and shifting business needs
- Collaborative — able to work well with colleagues, stakeholders and global teams
- Accountable — someone who takes ownership and follows through
- Growth-minded — curious, open to learning and keen to develop further as a leader
We would happily consider someone with slightly less experience if they can demonstrate strong leadership behaviours, learning agility and the ability to lead people effectively in a complex operational environment.
