Ready to pour your energy into something great? We’re looking for Summer Interns to join us at our Manchester Brewery!

What you’ll do as an Intern with us:

As an Intern, you’ll gain insight in what it takes to make some of the UK’s favourite beers, as well as experience working on a busy production site in a global business.

Ideally, the tasks that you’ll be working on will add value and complement your studies. We’ll also give you access to training that allows you to complete your duties safely and to a good standard.

This is an opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of one of the world’s most iconic brewers, make a tangible impact, and leave a lasting mark on how we operate.

About the Internships:

Brewing – Data and Computer Science

A hands-on internship for data science or computer science students to apply AI in a live brewing environment. You’ll work alongside brewing and automation teams to turn data into real improvements on site, optimising processes, increasing efficiency, and influencing how decisions are made across the brewhouse.

You’ll find yourself getting involved with:

  • Exploring brewing process data to identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Building predictive models to improve cycle efficiency
  • Seeing your insights used in operator dashboards to support real-time decisions
  • Highlighting key drivers of variation in brewing performance
  • Helping shape smarter, data-led ways of working on site

Ideal for someone curious, analytical, and keen to apply their skills in a real manufacturing setting.

Packaging – Mechanical Engineering

A practical internship for mechanical engineering students to work on real manufacturing equipment and improve how we maintain and monitor it. You’ll help introduce a new condition-based monitoring approach, making maintenance smarter, more proactive, and more efficient.

You’ll find yourself getting involved with:

  • Supporting the integration of key packaging equipment into a new monitoring tool
  • Identifying the right components and data points to ensure accurate, meaningful reporting
  • Working with maintenance teams to build improvements into existing preventative maintenance systems
  • Helping automate anomaly detection, triggering actions when equipment moves out of tolerance
  • Getting involved in rollout and training, ensuring teams can use the system effectively
  • Presenting your work and impact to the site leadership team

Ideal for someone hands-on, curious about how things work, and keen to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for somebody who shows enthusiasm and is willing and ready to learn. On top of that, you may have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Studying a relevant qualification to your chosen internship, which would include one of: Data or Computer Science (Brewing Internship) or Mechanical Engineering (Packaging Internship)
  • Comfortable using digital tools and systems (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to show examples of teamwork, initiative, and a desire to make things better – whether through work experience, personal projects or society involvement
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently, with a good degree of self-motivation.
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK - A student VISA only permits 20 hours of work per week during term time.

You’ll Stand Out If You:

  • Are curious about manufacturing and production, and eager to explore it further
  • Love solving problems and using data to guide smart decisions
  • Can communicate with clarity and confidence, both in writing and in conversation (English B2 or above)
  • Bring an open mind, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Have a genuine drive to learn, grow, and make an impact
