Job Description

About Faculty

Faculty transforms organisational performance through safe, impactful and human-led AI.

We are Europe’s leading applied AI company, and saw its potential a decade ago - long before the current hype cycle.

We were founded in 2014 with our Fellowship programme, training academics to become commercial data scientists.

Today, we provide over 300 global customers with industry-leading software, and bespoke AI consultancy for retail, healthcare, energy, and governmental organisations, as well as our award winning Fellowship.

Our expertise and safety credentials are such that OpenAI asked us to be their first technical partner, helping customers deploy cutting-edge generative AI safely.

Our high-impact work has saved lives through forecasting NHS demand during covid, produced green energy by routing boats towards the wind, slashed marketing spend by predicting customer spending habits, and kept children safe online.

AI is an epoch-defining technology. We want people to join us who can help our customers reap its enormous benefits safely.

About the role

Reporting into the Principal Product Designer,, this role is responsible for the design of specific UI in the Frontier platform, focused either on both named customers and specific personas. You will also play a pivotal role in embedding design systems and implementing a design-centric approach to our product development.

The role will be highly collaborative - working closely with our product team, solution engineers, sales engineers and wider organisation to move the culture of our product to a genuinely design-centric one.

What you’ll be doing

  • User-centred design - lead the design of user interfaces for technical and non-technical users, ensuring an intuitive experience across Frontier and customer implementations.

  • Design strategy - contribute to the design strategy, seeking input from internal stakeholders.

  • Prototyping and testing - Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and related artefacts to communicate design ideas. Work with customers and implementation teams to obtain feedback and iterate.

  • Visual design - Ensure consistency in design language and branding.

  • Collaboration - Work actively with product and project squads and beyond Frontier to implement designs according to the highest standards.

  • Research and innovation - Stay up to date with design trends and technologies, and seek opportunities to apply new ideas to drive innovation

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrable experience building and iterating product design for technical and non-technical personas, for data-heavy or data-intensive platforms.

  • An ability to contribute design activities to product discovery.

  • A keen interest in contributing to design in 0-to-1 products

  • Experience working with product squads to build designs using continuous feedback loops, from low-fidelity to high-fidelity mock-ups.

  • Familiarity with design standards and systems.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.

  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Proficient in design tools such as Figma or similar.

  • Curiosity in how AI will revolutionise business decision making.

Ideal

  • Demonstrable experience working with AI products.

What we can offer you:

The Faculty team is diverse and distinctive, and we all come from different personal, professional and organisational backgrounds. We all have one thing in common: we are driven by a deep intellectual curiosity that powers us forward each day.

Faculty is the professional challenge of a lifetime. You’ll be surrounded by an impressive group of brilliant minds working to achieve our collective goals. Our consultants, product developers, business development specialists, operations professionals and more all bring something unique to Faculty, and you’ll learn something new from everyone you meet. You’ll also have the opportunity to make your mark on a high-growth start-up now poised to expand internationally.
