Job Description

Markets Operations Manager, UKI Strategy & Transactions (SaT) Markets

The UKI SaT Markets team provides operational and strategic support to the SaT business, driving profitable growth for our priority sectors and accounts. As a Markets Operations Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing business performance and driving sales & operational excellence through providing robust reporting and insights to the business to help meet our current and long-term strategic goals.

This role reports directly to the SaT Markets Operation Leader and partners closely with the Sector Operations Associate Directors.

Key responsibilities

Markets Operations & Reporting

  • Owns the SaT Sales and Pipeline weekly and monthly reporting processes, working with GDS to ensure reporting is robust and delivered timely and to deadlines.

  • Prepare Sector TNR reporting and Leadership team metrics summary
  • Prepare supporting materials for Quarterly Business reviews and Monthly performance meetings, as requested by the SaT Markets Operations Leader
  • Leverage MI and insights to track progress vs targets to highlight areas needing action and make recommendations based on analysis and acquired experience.
  • Embrace innovation and automation and act as advocate for change showing a growth mindset, flexibility and resilience.
  • Lead on and deliver processes (e.g. Merger Markets, Engagement Partner planning) and initiatives, as requested by the SaT Markets Operations Leader.

Pipeline management:

  • Manage pipeline hygiene, including lapsed process, to drive accurate sales and revenue forecasting.
  • Manage top opportunities / sales / losses reporting to support analysis of timing and likelihood of future revenues and highlight any issues.
  • Work with Sector Operations Associate Directors to ensure pipeline & sales hygiene and robust sector data is completed timely.
  • Gain a good knowledge of Dynamics and Protocols to support the business with any queries.

Accounts, Solutions and Campaigns:

  • Own and develop the Solutions and Priority Accounts reporting.
  • Provide support to SaT Markets Operations Leader and SaT BD Leader on SaTAL Navigator Accounts programme.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Highly motivated and invested in the success of the firm and SaT.
  • Strong numeracy skills, financial awareness and attention to detail, combined with the excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to turn raw data into robust and useful information that can influence and action change
  • Energetic and action-orientated with a willingness to contribute across a broad and evolving agenda. Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve outcomes, and to take ownership of issues and solutions.
  • Effective influencing, relationship building and stakeholder management skills. Ability to build trusted long-term working relationships with top-level stakeholder groups.
  • Personable and a robust team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently.
  • Highly organised with excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple overlapping projects / deliverables simultaneously.
  • A “safe pair of hands” with consideration for EY policies and procedures.
  • Operationally rigorous.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Energy, drive and enthusiasm with a reputation for acting as an ambassador for operational and market activities.
  • Demonstrable experience of owning reporting processes and resolving issues with data, delivering reporting that is error-free to tight deadlines, developing reporting and providing insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience of Alteryx and PowerBI preferred but not required.
  • Experience of leading teams, directly and indirectly, such as offshore team management and development.
  • Track record of delivering successful outcomes on a range of important projects in a fast-moving operational environment, e.g., Engagement Partner planning.
  • Proven experience of developing strong working relationships through layers of seniority
  • A growth mindset and be comfortable dealing with change, finding proactive & positive solutions.
  • Professional services experience is preferable but not required
