The opportunity
EY is seeking an experienced and strategic Global Social Media Leader to set and drive the global social media strategy for the organization’s owned channels. This leader will ensure alignment with the organization’s brand, global priorities, and growth strategy, while actively collaborating with senior EY Brand, Marketing and Communications leaders in addition to member firms to foster a cohesive and impactful social media presence across platforms.
Working with the EY Global Media Relations and Social Media Team Leader and other BMC leaders, this role will establish the vision, direction, and operational framework for EY's global social media activities. The leader will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance on leveraging social media to enhance reputation, drive brand differentiation, and deliver strategic storytelling at scale.
By leveraging advanced insights, analytics, and AI, they will ensure these channels remain cohesive, distinctive, and driven by audience intelligence. Additionally, this leader will empower member firms to activate consistently and efficiently within a clearly defined global framework, supported by AI-driven tools and best practices.
Your key responsibilities
- Global social media strategy
- Maintain and enhance the global social channel architecture, editorial vision and content principles, ensuring consistency, clarity and impact across platforms and regions.
- Define and evolve the EY global social channel architecture, editorial vision and content principles, ensuring consistency, clarity and impact.
- Translate business, brand and reputational objectives into a clear, actionable global social roadmap, balancing long‑term storytelling with agility for moments that matter.
- Develop as part of the communications team, build reputation building PR stories, leadership profiles and impact
- Set global standards for social media content quality, tone of voice, storytelling formats and platform‑specific execution, ensuring brand integrity and creative excellence.
- Work in close consultation with the EY Global Brand Team to ensure connectivity across social media strategy particularly campaign activity.
- Work closely with the EY Global Brand Team to coordinate and align social media editorial and campaign strategies
- Lead an ecosystem of social media experts that sit across the executive and regions, and build a long term ongoing evolution around social, channels, creator economy, influencer and podcast strategy
- Senior leadership advisory
- Advise the firm on social media strategy for leadership visibility, reputation management, and campaigns.
- Guide on social positioning based on audience data and platform trends.
- Confidently influence decision‑making at senior levels, bringing clarity on what will drive impact versus noise in a highly matrix organisation and complex, global operating environment.
- Own the ongoing evolution of the global social media governance model, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, decision rights and escalation paths across global and member firm teams.
- Enable regional and market teams with guidance, frameworks, playbooks and strategic direction, rather than hands‑on execution, to support consistent activation at scale.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams across the organization to support aligned, well‑governed and compliant global social activity.
- Manage the global implementation of our social media training program for senior leadership, ensuring that senior leaders fully leverage platforms such as LinkedIn.
- Measurement and insight
- Define success metrics and oversee global social measurement and insight frameworks, leveraging AI-powered analytics tools where and when appropriate to transform performance data into actionable strategic recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
- Use data and platform intelligence to inform channel strategy, content prioritization and leadership counsel.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of EY’s social media approach and recommend strategic shifts as platforms, audiences and business priorities evolve.
- Leadership and collaboration
- Lead through influence in a highly matrixed, global organization, setting direction and standards while collaborating across geographies.
- Coach and support more junior team members where appropriate, fostering strategic thinking, confidence and strong judgment.
- Build strong, trusted relationships across BMC and the wider firm to ensure social media is fully integrated into broader communications and go‑to‑market efforts.
- Work with external agencies to ensure alignment with EY’s strategic direction, adherence to established frameworks and playbooks, and compliance with global standards for social media activity. This collaboration should also guarantee consistent activation at scale, support well-governed and compliant content, and facilitate the integration of measurement, insight, and data-driven recommendations into campaigns.
- Provide consultation to the Brand Social Media Marketing Team on Social Influencer engagement including
- Oversee the integration of AI, including AI agents, into key social media workstreams - such as content optimization, audience analysis, and trend identification - to enhance strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Significant experience in global social media leadership, ideally within a large, global, matrix organization.
- Experience aligning social strategy with brand, reputation and global narratives.
- Proven track record of setting and driving social media strategy at a global level, beyond execution.
- Extensive experience advising senior leadership, including the C-suite, and working with multiple, high‑profile stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of global social platforms, emerging trends and governance considerations.
- Experience in handling global projects and campaigns.

- Strong appreciation of risk, governance and brand stewardship in global communications.
- A passion for business, global issues and an understanding of how social platforms shape public perception.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe.
