Job Description

If you have spent years in the creative industries building capital and are looking for somewhere to bring that expertise to bear, this is a route into the NGO world that does not ask you to leave your sector behind.

This role is for someone working anywhere across the creative industries - music, film, art, gaming, sport, literature - who wants to put their skills and connections to work for the planet, and to develop a specialism at the intersection of culture and environmental advocacy.
The legal work is at the centre of what ClientEarth does. The cultural work builds the understanding, the pressure and the relationships that help it land. This role sits in that space. There is real ownership here: your own projects, your own relationships, your own contributions. The work will regularly take you to events, evenings, industry forums and there is a generous time off in lieu policy to reflect that. Office attendance in our London office is 20% of the month.

Full time preferred but we may consider 4 days a week, with salary adjusted on a pro rata basis.
Important dates to note:

  • Deadline to submit an initial application: 27th of September
  • If your profile passes initial screening, you will be asked to submit additional information in the form of three additional questions.
  • The deadline to submit your answers is the 29th of September
  • If we do not receive a response to these questions by the deadline we will assume you are no longer interested in the role.
  • Interviews will take place on the 17th, 19th and 20th of October.

Please also review the "Our Hiring Process" section at the bottom of this advert to learn more about the stages involved for this specific role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop a broad portfolio of cultural relationships and supporters across music, arts, film, TV, gaming, literature, books and sport, drawing on your own network and ClientEarth's existing relationships, working in close collaboration with the team lead
  • Project manage the Music & Culture team's contribution to major international advocacy and campaigning moments across the year (e.g. COP, Climate Week NYC, London Climate Action Week, individual and innovative campaigning moments around case launches and similar)
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify how cultural engagement, partnerships and influential voices can help advance advocacy, communications, fundraising and programme objectives, agreeing priorities with the team lead.
  • Represent ClientEarth in discussions with senior cultural leaders, talent representatives, institutions and strategic partners, consulting the team lead before significant negotiations or commitments and exercising judgement and diplomacy in managing sensitive stakeholder relationships

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A career background in the creative industries with your own established network and contacts in the sector
  • Strong written communication skills: experience producing clear, compelling copy for a range of audiences and formats, whether internal reports, external communications, brochures, proposals or editorial content
  • Proven track record of building and managing relationships with senior or influential figures in the creative industries
  • An understanding of how creative industries work from the inside and knowing how to make the right people feel this organisation is worth their time
