Job Description
Let’s transform banking forever
ClearBank is built on the belief that banking infrastructure shouldn’t slow down progress. Quite the opposite. Speed it up and that’s when you unlock potential. When you really start to innovate.
That spirit and ‘can-do’ attitude is why our clients – from FinTech's and crypto platforms, to banks and credit unions – choose to use our API to power their banking infrastructure.
But it’s our people who are the stars here. They power that innovation, push harder to break boundaries. They make coming to work (or working from home) fun. They’re the ones we trust to catapult our clients to success. Just as they trust us to build a business that’s always striding forward.
What you can expect:
ClearBank is a place where you can do things differently and challenge the status quo. We will give you a high level of autonomy and transparency, and we trust you to make the right decisions for the bank.
If that excites you, how about joining our ClearBank Europe Finance team as an FP&A Analyst? Reporting to our ClearBank Europe CFO and supporting the other two Europe Finance team members, you will work closely with all departments of our European Bank as well as with the Finance team of the group company in UK to deliver on our business strategy and support ClearBank Europe’s growth trajectory.
The Europe Finance team is amongst others responsible for performance management, modelling, controlling & reporting, which includes annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, business cases, regulatory reporting and management reporting. The Amsterdam based Europe Finance team is partially supported by the Group Finance department in UK.
Your role includes amongst others:
Work closely with all areas of the business to understand and drive financial & operational performance
Provide insights & analyses that guide our long-term business strategy and help shape our future direction
Prepare and analyse business cases to ensure we are making the best use of the company's working capital, by looking at return on investment and comparison with other scenarios that utilise our resources
Prepare internal reports for executive leadership and support their decision making
Support Financial Control team and Regulatory Reporting team in month-end activities
Ensure reporting is in line with financial and regulatory requirements
Monitor capital & liquidity ratios and proactively suggest corrective actions
Analyse the financial & operational performance and the trends of key performance indicators, and proactively come up with suggestions for improvement
Create, update, and maintain financial models and forecasts of the European Bank’s 5-year plan
Continuous improvement of Europe Finance processes and activities (e.g. implementation of business tools and dashboard reports)
What you’ll bring:
To excel in this role, you’ll also need:
Entrepreneurship mentality to develop your career in Finance
Have an intercultural, international and open mindset
Resilient with the ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Team player with excellent connecting & communication skills
Attention to detail is a must
Ability & willingness to improve processes and procedures
Pragmatism and a can-do attitude
Approximately 5 years of experience as FP&A or business controller in banking and/or in high-growth organisations
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Degree in business economics, business administration, finance, or other relevant field.
Fully proficient in English (both in writing and verbal communication), and at least one additional European language (ideally Dutch, French and/or German)
