Trade Finance Analyst
Centrica Energy is the trading arm of Centrica. We trade power, gas, LNG, and energy attributes and connect producers, suppliers and off takers in the wholesale energy markets - and we provide our clients with the best route-to-market services available to the market today with physical and financial settlement approaches. We’re a total of 850+ colleagues from over 50 different nations, located in 8 different offices around the world. At our London office, where this role is located, you’ll be joining our international office with over 300 dedicated energy specialists.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trade Finance Analyst to join our growing team and help advance in your career. As a Trade Finance Analyst, you will support the Trade Finance Team with all administrative tasks such as preparing approval forms, filing documents and maintaining databases and reports. This will be a role you’ll be able to mould into your own so it’s a fantastic development opportunity for someone interested in trade finance.
About the Role:
Maintain paper-based archive and digital database of trade finance instruments:
Creating physical archive of trade finance instruments and a list of references
Maintaining digital database of the trade finance instruments – daily updates required
Assist with Facilitation of digital developments:
Actively participate in Trade Finance team activities in relation to designing digital solution(s) for administrating trade finance instruments
Admin Support to Trade Finance Team
Prepare internal forms for approvals required
Reaching out to various internal functions to obtain approvals on time while monitoring deadlines for final submission
Filing all forms and approvals for audit records
Alerting Trade Finance Team in case of issues/delay with obtaining approvals.
BAU responsibilities
Maintaining up to date documentation library of active Trade Finance products
Producing reports for Senior Management including KPIs
Ad-hoc analysis and query investigation of data
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong working relations with main stakeholders
About You:
Experience in a trade finance role in a commodity house would be desirable
Advanced level and strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio, Power BI, SharePoint)
Tech-savvy, curious about technologies and willing to help to advance digital solutions for the team bringing ideas to the pool
Strong Team Player
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks
Strong numerical skills
Attention to detail skills
Ability to communicate clearly
Effective communication and sense of accountability and ownership of deliverables
Desire to grow and acquire new knowledge
