Centrica Energy is looking for a new colleague to join our dedicated IT service team as a Technical Support Specialist. This is a great opportunity if you have technical acumen and want to join the ever-moving energy industry to give your contribution to Energizing a Greener, Fairer Future.

About the role

In this role you will have a number of different responsibilities and ad hoc tasks throughout the day. Among other things you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, configuring & supporting computer hardware (laptops and workstations), software (OS and 3rd party), systems, networks, printers and scanners within Centrica Energy as well as responding to service issues and requests in our service desk system in timely manner taken our SLA into consideration.

A key part of the job is to provide technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone) and repairing and replacing equipment as necessary. You will also:

  • Insure that employees in Centrica Energy have the hardware and software they need to fulfil their role and work without being disturbed by technical problems

  • Be responsible for day-to-day IT Service desk tasks such as providing technical support across the company and monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks related to clients

  • Take part in the facility services regarding new employees’ workplace, which is moving desks, setting up all the hardware and cabling

  • Building the client operative images

  • Maintaining and testing hardware and software on which all our client systems and services are running

The main technologies we use are:

  • ITIL

  • Intune

  • SCCM

  • ITSM (ServiceNow, Jira etc.)

  • MCP in client OS

This role will be based out of our Aalborg office. Some travel activities between locations is expected.

About you

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Experience with providing great customer service Face-to-Face and in writing

  • Positive can-do attitude facing and solving complex challenges

  • Experience working with at least one of the technologies we use (see above)

You will work as part of a team in an international organization so your communication- and collaboration skills will be a valuable asset. Taking a structured approach, working in a professional manner and being a true problem solver will also be important in this role.

Moreover, it would be an advantage if you:

  • Are certified in ITIL – if you don’t have this certification, we will provide you with it

  • Have experience with project management and working in an IT company or in an organization heavily dependent on IT.
