Senior Propositions Manager

We’re looking for a brilliant Senior Propositions Manager to join our team of colleagues in British Gas Business, that together are setting the standard in energy supply.

The Senior Propositions Manager will be part of the wider BGB commercial team and you will manage a team of circa 5 colleagues. We are open to other UK locations as a base but you must be flexible to be able to travel to Windsor and Leicester as required.

We will consider candidates who would like to work compressed hours.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will ensure the Business proposition portfolio delivers the needs of the customer and the goals of the business.

  • Leading the proposition development agenda and effectively utilising the expertise and capabilities within the wider team to successfully deliver new propositions and improve existing proposition portfolio.

  • The ongoing management of the existing proposition portfolio through continuous improvement, to ensure existing propositions align to evolving needs.

  • You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end performance of each proposition, incorporating trading performance, value creation and customer experience in collaboration with the customer experience team.

  • Defining proposition performance metrics / success measures and tracking performance; identifying and recommending improvement actions where required.

  • Developing new energy propositions and propositions to meet commercial targets and customer needs will be part of your role.

  • Identifying and managing any regulatory risks associated with the design and delivery of Business propositions is key and supporting the development of proposition terms and conditions.

  • Keeping aware of changes in the market, competitor activity, technology advances and regulatory drivers; responding accordingly through the introduction of new or modified to proposition offerings.

  • Developing proposition knowledge across British Gas Business to create advocates of the energy propositions.

You’ll have a track record of:

  • You will have significant experience working in B2B energy or a similar competitive market (telecoms, water, banking etc).

  • Experience of delivering innovative and effective solutions that meet customer needs and deliver commercial value.

  • Ideally knowledge of the UK energy market; including evolving trends, customer needs and regulatory landscape and an understanding of energy propositions and pricing.

  • Good understanding of the customer journey, business process and systems.

  • Good understanding of regulations and policies that govern our business.

  • Understanding of the commercial aims and objectives of Centrica.

  • Credibility to build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and influence in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Able to multi-task, navigate complex tasks & prioritise effectively.

  • You will also be an innovator and a strong leader that fosters a learning culture and develops focused and high performing teams to navigate changes and ambiguity.
