An opportunity to play your part – Your role as Procurement Category Manager HR & LD, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan specifically tailored to the HR & L&D category. Responsible for its substantial business impact and value, you will work in close collaboration and interaction with senior Group HR stakeholders as this engagement is crucial to effectively lead and manage procurement projects, ultimately aiming to optimise Centrica's commercial benefits.

The day to day

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop a comprehensive wave plan for procurement activities, considering new business requirements, strategic goals, emerging risks, and expiring supplier contracts.
  • Utilize tools such as Porters Five Forces and Kraljic to gain a strong understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers specific to HR & L&D, contributing to the formulation of a robust Category Strategy.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to create effective go-to-market strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to maximise the impact of the Category Strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead and execute complex high-value tenders in accordance with the Category Strategy, ensuring optimal outcomes for Centrica.
  • Manage commercial negotiations for complex deals, balancing the diverse demands of multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead contract drafting and negotiation in collaboration with Legal teams, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
  • Develop and implement SRM activities in alignment with the Centrica SRM framework for the HR & L&D Category.
  • Project manage procurement initiatives, overseeing all aspects of risk management and contract governance processes in collaboration with business stakeholders, including Group Contracts Committee and Centrica Investment Committee.
  • Manage, lead, and coach category specialists supporting HR & L&D and other group categories.
  • Manage and optimise the supplier base within the category, utilizing buying channels and category playbooks to facilitate stakeholder buying.
  • Establish strong relationships, positioning oneself as a key business partner to the HR stakeholder group.
  • Collaborate across the Procurement Function to ensure the delivery of the best possible experience for stakeholders, fostering a cohesive and efficient working environment.
