Interim - Energy Transitions and Procurement Lead
Remote-first
A little flex time
Job Description
We are Centrica! We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising a cleaner, greener future. Working here is #MoreThanACareer - we’re powered by purpose. Together we can make an impact that will truly change tomorrow. Whether you’re developing cutting-edge green tech, helping customers on the front line or simplifying operations behind the scenes.
Your work here isn’t just a job – it’s a mission. We all play a vital role in energising a greener, fairer future.
An opportunity to play your part – Centrica Energy Storage+ (CES+) stands as a cornerstone within the UK Energy sector, operating the nation's largest gas storage facility to fortify energy system resilience. With bold aspirations, CES+ aims to evolve into the world's foremost hydrogen storage facility over the next decade to bolster UK energy ambitions. As the Interim Energy Transition Procurement Lead (CPL), you will assume full responsibility for spearheading and executing procurement and project management practices of the highest standard to support the CES+ project's redevelopment of the Rough storage facility. This role entails close collaboration with the designated Project Management Company (PMC).
The Rough Redevelopment project (RougH2) is poised to significantly augment the UK's storage capacity. With the current offshore infrastructure nearing four decades in operation, the project necessitates new infrastructure to ensure longevity. An advanced, remotely operated platform will supplant the existing offshore platform, accompanied by the drilling of 16 new wells to enhance flow. Moreover, the project entails the installation of two new subsea pipelines connecting to the Easington Gas Terminal for processing. Onshore injection compression facilities will be newly installed to facilitate expanded gas storage capacity.
This ambitious program aims to have the new infrastructure operational by 2028, with construction occurring concurrently with the operation of existing assets. The transition from old to new operations is slated for completion in 2028.
