Job Description

Recruiter: Trevor Newman

Career Grade: E

Internal Closing Date: 19/05/2026

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and tech-curious Technical Communications Specialist to join our Devices, Identities & Partnerships team. Looking for a change and have a passion for writing, technology, and understanding how devices actually “talk” to a network, this is the perfect launchpad for you.

You will be the glue that holds our technical documentation together. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and partnership managers to help translate complex technical requirements into easy-to-understand guides and reports. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the ins and outs of 5G, eSIM, and the hardware partner ecosystem at one of the UK’s leading technology companies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support documentation: Assist in drafting and updating technical guides, including device configuration manuals and internal “how-to” guides for new hardware launches.
  • Learn the landscape: Gain a deep understanding of mobile standards (VoLTE, 5G SA, eSIM) by working closely with our device testing and certification teams.
  • Organise technical data: Maintain our internal documentation libraries (Sharepoint, Engage), ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and easy for the wider team to find.
  • Partner coordination: Help prepare materials for meetings with our hardware partners (e.g., Apple, Samsung, Google)
  • Bridge the gap: Translate technical feedback from engineers into clear summaries for our commercial and product teams.
  • Promote the Devices team across the wider business: Create and share clear internal updates (e.g., briefings, release notes, and FAQs) that highlight upcoming launches, partner milestones, and key technical changes.

Essential Skills / Experience

We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, communicates clearly, and enjoys working with technical detail.

  • Fast learner with a strong appetite to understand mobile technology and how hardware and networks interact (e.g., 5G, VoLTE, eSIM).
  • Clear communicator who can simplify complex information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across internal and external teams
  • Confident in proposing new ideas
  • Strong attention to detail (spots inconsistencies, typos, and broken instructions).
  • Highly organised and curious; comfortable asking questions and digging into the “why.”
  • Strong written English and confidence producing documentation, guides, and summaries.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Relevant degree/training or hands-on experience in technical writing, communications, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and documentation tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Jira, Confluence or Microsoft Teams.
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Prior exposure to telecommunications or technical documentation
