Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for detailed design output at a platform and service level
  • Producing quality high level and low level design documentation
  • Representing the team on project engagements and contributing from
    requirements gathering right through to launch
  • Communicating back into the team summaries of the project scope and
    requirements
  • Designing of scalable solutions with the highest customer experience standards.
  • Monitor the capacity of our platforms and interfaces and plan upgrades,
    configuration changes or migration activities as needed
  • Working closely with test and operations and other stakeholders across
    technology to ensure best stability of our solutions
  • Providing technical expertise and consultancy to the team and beyond
  • Support the wider team with core design activities as needed

Mandatory Skills

  • Exceptional communicator skilled at engaging and influencing senior design and
    specialist levels.
  • Extensive experience in creating comprehensive documentation for complex
    solutions.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and performing low-level diagnostics.
  • In-depth knowledge of voice core networks, with a broad understanding of mobile
    and BT core networks and services.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to analyse and interpret data and network
    statistics.
  • Capable of applying network and commercial insights to solve problems and drive
    solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, adept at identifying opportunities for efficiency and
    best practices.

Desirables

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with IMS technologies and related voice
    services such as VoLTE, VoWiFi, Interconnect, Fixed, and 5G.
  • Proficient in API design and development.
  • Solid foundational knowledge and experience with telecom voice solutions based
    on virtualized technology, including VMware and COTS.
  • Competent understanding and experience with telecom voice solutions utilizing
    private or public cloud technologies, including containerization, Kubernetes,
    Linux, and OpenStack software.
  • Strong practical knowledge and experience with protocols such as SIP, HTTP, IP
    networking, Diameter, DNS, BICC, ISUP, CAP, and INAP.
  • Basic hands-on experience with subscriber provisioning processes and systems.
  • Skilled in telecom platform and software security.
