Job Description

Recruiter: Seema Shivakumar

Hiring Manager: Mahesh Gunda

Career Grade: E

About the role

• This role requires strong technical expertise in Java, React and DevOps, supported by a thorough understanding of the project’s applications, architecture, integrations and business requirements. You will contribute to end-to-end software delivery, translating project needs into reliable, secure and maintainable solutions.
• You will work on application migration and modernisation, assessing dependencies, adapting application components and supporting testing, deployment and a smooth transition to target platforms. Working with development, testing and operations teams, you will resolve technical issues and minimise disruption to business services.
• Through automated build and deployment pipelines, code reviews, clear technical documentation and continuous improvement, you will help simplify the application landscape, improve service reliability and enable faster delivery of changes that support business priorities and better customer experiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Take responsibility for planning and delivering application migration activities, including dependency assessment, migration readiness, execution and post-migration validation.
• Develop and adapt Java services and React applications to meet target-platform requirements, maintaining application functionality, integrations, security and performance.
• Use DevOps tools, version control and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate builds, testing, environment configuration and deployment for application migration.
• Work with architecture, infrastructure, testing and operations teams to resolve migration issues, complete functional and integration testing, and support cutover and rollback plans with minimal service disruption.
• Maintain migration plans, technical documentation and operational runbooks; communicate progress and risks, support handover, and identify opportunities to improve migration processes.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and React, including developing, testing and troubleshooting backend services, user interfaces and application integrations.
• Practical experience with DevOps tools, Git version control and CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployment, together with an understanding of application migration, environment configuration and dependency management.
• Hands-on experience in server-to-server migration, including source and target server assessment, application dependency mapping, operating system and runtime compatibility checks, and migration of application files, configurations and services.
• Practical knowledge of Linux/Unix server administration, file permissions, service management, environment variables, and troubleshooting DNS, ports, firewall connectivity, SSL/TLS certificates and database connections during migration.
• Experience in migration backup and restore, data integrity checks, cutover and rollback planning, smoke and integration testing, and post-migration log, performance and service monitoring to minimise downtime and confirm successful migration.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, test creation, troubleshooting and documentation, with the ability to validate generated outputs and protect confidential information.
• Hands-on experience in Bash/Shell scripting to automate server-to-server migration tasks
