About the role

Business Area
• This role sits within the Platform Engineering / Security & Vulnerability Management function, focusing on building and enhancing automation solutions that support application security operations, vulnerability lifecycle management, and ITSM integration. The role works closely with Application Support Groups (ASG), Security teams, and Cloud/DevOps platforms to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency across Pan BT.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and maintain web applications across frontend and backend components.
• Develop automation tools and scripts to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
• Use AWS services to deploy and support applications in the cloud.
• Create and update CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to enable smooth builds and releases.
• Work with APIs and integrations to connect systems and automate workflows.
• Collaborate with security and operations teams to address vulnerabilities and improve system reliability.
• Support incident and change processes by following agreed ways of working.
• Help design and improve internal tools and dashboards for better visibility and tracking.
• Test your work and fix issues to ensure applications run smoothly.
• Document your solutions so others can understand and reuse them.
• Work closely with team members, stakeholders, and support teams to deliver solutions.
• Share ideas and suggest improvements to simplify processes and save time.

Essential Skills / Experience

Backend Development
• Strong experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in one or more backend technologies: Python/Node.js/Java
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience with database development using SQL and/or NoSQL technologies.

AWS Cloud
• Hands-on experience delivering solutions on AWS Cloud.
• Knowledge of AWS services i
• Understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and cost optimization concepts.

• DevOps & Engineering
• Experience using Git/GitLab source control.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of software testing, debugging, and deployment practices.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.

Frontend Exposure
• Experience with frontend technologies including: HTML5,CSS3,JavaScript/TypeScript
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as: React/Angular/Vue.js
• Ability to contribute to dashboards, portals, and management interfaces where required.

Additional Skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of API integrations and enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills / Experience

Experience developing enterprise-scale cloud-native applications.
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or other ITSM platforms.
Experience with event-driven architectures and serverless computing.
Exposure to vulnerability management and security tooling (Qualys, Nessus, Prisma, etc.).
Experience with data engineering and reporting solutions.
AWS Certification:
• AWS Cloud Practitioner
• AWS Developer Associate
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate
Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
Experience working in large enterprise environments
