About the role

To manage and administer SD-WAN technologies for BT and its global customers. The role is responsible for implementing, operating and supporting SD-WAN services across customer environments while ensuring compliance with change management, SLA commitments and security standards. The position is part of the 24x7 Global Operations team and requires strong technical expertise in VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud), Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Fortinet SD-WAN, Meraki and Prisma SD-WAN solutions, along with solid routing and switching fundamentals.

What you’ll be doing

• Implement and review simple to complex SD-WAN service requests for global customers.
• Configure and troubleshoot VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud), Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Fortinet SD-WAN, Meraki and Prisma SD-WAN solutions.
• Perform pre-implementation validation, peer review, implementation and post-validation checks.
• Manage routing technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Static Routing, MPLS and VPN.
• Delivering implementation requests directly under Owning queue and implementing simple to complex changes for Cisco switches, routers, WLCs and Firewall.
• Configure IPSec tunnels, QoS, segmentation, NAT/PAT, ACLs, DHCP and policy-based routing.
• Support LAN/WAN/WLAN/Meraki/IPAM devices including Cisco, Wireless Controllers.
• Support customer migrations, project implementations and out-of-hours changes.
• Investigate implementation risks and coordinate with TDAs, Service Desk and stakeholders.
• Resolve technically escalated cases and mentor Request Fulfilment Engineers.
• Maintain implementation documentation and identify service improvement opportunities.

Essential Skills / Experience

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in Network Operations, Request Fulfilment and SD-WAN implementations.
• Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, MPLS, VPN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN and IPsec technologies.
• Good hands-on knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching technologies.
• Working knowledge of VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud), Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Fortinet SD-WAN, Meraki and Prisma SD-WAN solutions.
• Experience in implementing network changes through change management processes, including validation, peer review and post-implementation checks.
• Understanding of QoS, ACLs, NAT/PAT, DHCP, Network Segmentation and Policy-Based Routing.
• Experience working in a customer-facing global operations environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex implementation-related issues within agreed SLA timelines.

Desirable Skills / Experience

Qualifications:

• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge – Mandatory.
• CCNP Enterprise or SD-WAN certification – Preferred.
• ITIL Foundation Certification – Preferred
