Project Manager

We operate a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, please only apply if you are comfortable with this arrangement.

Must hold or be eligible to achieve SC-level Security Clearance.

About the role

You’ll be directly engaging with customers in leadership roles (IT Manager, Programme Manager etc.) and be viewed by them as leading significant pieces of delivery that are highly visible and recognisable. In this respect what you and your team deliver and the behaviours the collective team exhibit will shape customer experience. Preferably you will have previous telecoms experience in core network, WAN/LAN or cloud voice/contact centre environments. You will be expected to promote and shape project management methods / tools. In addition, you will be expected to ensure that your team conforms with governance / standards set out by the PMO (or contract where mandated).

UK Security Clearance will be required for this role - so please only apply if you're eligible (5 years minimum UK residency)

What you’ll be doing

• Be accountable for leading the delivery of project(s), programme or portfolio that are large, complex and represent significant benefit / risk to our customers. The delivery will be highly visible and recognisable.
• Manage project risk for BT and customers with an ability to use and adapt recognized project management methods and processes depending on elements of the risk profile and governance needs.
• Ensure the PMO and resourcing functions have clear line of sight of upcoming demand and contract requirements.
• Act as a customer champion. Establishes customer needs, uses operational and technical expertise to deliver brilliant experiences by resolving customer issues and delivery quality and timeliness.
• Understand the customer business context and the impacts the programme has on successful business outcomes.
• Work in collaboration with the Practice and Hub Managers, and the Client Services team to ensure consistent delivery to customers.

Essential Skills / Experience

SC Clearance Eligibility
• Experience of delivering a broad range of IT and network technology. Ideally this should be in a range of industry sectors.
• Experience of delivering projects with complex budgets of £1 million to £20 million including professional services resource, hardware etc.
• Highly-developed project management skills with experience of delivering technical solutions to customers.

• Great stakeholder management skills. Ability to work with multiple internal and external partners to deliver great outcomes for our customers and business.
• Negotiation, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to connect with our customer and grasp the challenges faced by their business.
• Ability to interpret Commercial Contracts and identify area of risk / opportunity.

• Telecoms experience (core network, WAN/LAN, cloud voice, contact centre).
• Experience embedding project management standards, tools and governance.
