Job Description

About the Role

Within BT Business, Design and Delivery Project Managers deliver large and complex telecoms and network projects for medium to large business customers across the UK. You will lead highly visible programmes, engage with senior stakeholders and ensure project governance, reporting standards, and best-practice project management methods are followed.

You will be required to hold NPPV3 clearance for this role - this something BT can arrange for you, but please only apply if you meet the eligibility criteria for this - minimum 3 years UK residency and full UK right to work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead delivery of large or complex projects, programmes, or portfolios representing significant benefit and risk.
  • Manage risk effectively and adapt project management methods to fit delivery context and governance needs.
  • Ensure PMO and resourcing teams have visibility of demand, milestones, and contractual commitments.
  • Act as a customer champion, understanding customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Understand customer business environments and translate programme outcomes into business value.
  • Collaborate closely with Practice & Hub Managers and the Client Services team to ensure consistent delivery.

Essential skills/experience;

  • Experience delivering a broad range of Telecoms and network technologies across sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage complex budgets (£1m–£20m).
  • Strong project management capability with technical delivery experience.
  • Commercially and financially astute with ability to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret commercial contracts and identify risk and opportunity.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Telecoms experience (core network, WAN/LAN, cloud voice, contact centre).
  • Experience embedding project management standards, tools and governance.
