Function: Business Operations

Location: London, Birmingham, Manchester

Salary: Competitive

About the role

The Product Experience Lead is accountable for shaping clear, compelling, and outcome‑focused product experiences that can be delivered rapidly by AI‑enabled engineering pods.

This role is similar to a Product Specialist but has broader, end‑to‑end responsibilities. It combines:

  • Product discovery and experience definition
  • Business analysis and requirements clarity
  • UX and interaction design, accelerated through AI tools

The Product Experience Lead ensures that business intent, user needs, and delivery execution remain continuously aligned, enabling pods to build the right experience at pace.

Translate business and user needs into high‑quality product experiences, requirements, and interaction flows that AI‑native engineering teams can deliver efficiently, predictably, and at scale.

What you’ll be doing

Product Discovery & Experience Definition

  • Lead discovery activities with business and operational stakeholders to understand problems, desired outcomes, constraints, and success measures.
  • Define the end‑to‑end product or journey experience, ensuring it is intuitive, coherent, and aligned to business goals.
  • Shape experience narratives that clearly articulate what will be built and why.

Business Analysis & Requirements Clarity

  • Perform core business analysis activities, including:
    • stakeholder engagement and alignment
    • problem definition and scope clarification
    • requirements elicitation and validation
  • Translate needs into:
    • well‑structured user stories
    • clear acceptance criteria
    • prioritised and delivery‑ready backlog items
  • Ensure requirements are unambiguous, outcome‑oriented, and optimised for AI‑assisted SDLC.

  • Use AI‑powered design tools to:
    • rapidly explore and iterate experience options
    • generate high‑quality UX artefacts
    • visualise journeys and interactions at speed
  • Focus on experience quality, usability, and clarity, rather than manual design effort.

Stakeholder Relationship Management (Critical)

  • Act as a primary point of contact for experience and requirements clarity.
  • Facilitate informed trade‑off decisions between scope, experience, time, and delivery constraints.
  • Proactively manage expectations, resolve ambiguity, and ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.

Collaboration with Engineering Pods

  • Work closely with Pod Lead Engineers and Pod Engineers to:
    • clarify intent and assumptions
    • refine stories and experience details
    • validate outputs against the intended experience

What Makes This Role Different from Traditional Product or BA Roles

  • You own experience clarity, not just documentation.
  • You blend product thinking, analysis, and UX design into a single, accountable role.
  • AI is used by default to accelerate discovery, design, and definition.
  • You operate as a strategic partner to stakeholders, not a requirements hand‑off function.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, structured requirements.
  • Experience shaping product or journey experiences.
