About the role

BT is at forefront of Digital Transformation and rapidly moving towards Autonomous Network (AN) Management and Intent Driven Network as a Service (NaaS) products. This role holder will define and drive network OSS solution architecture & roadmap which enables higher level network management automation, business agility & innovations towards AN level 5.


Principal solution architect – OSS will work across multiple domains, use wide range of technologies, be hands-on and collaborate across different teams & units to solve complex business problems and make organisation ready for future needs. This role holder will be accountable for the network OSS solution architecture and drive implementation of the next generation network OSS solutions, systems & products.

What you’ll be doing

  • Will define OSS Solution Architecture, strategy, roadmap, software, systems and products in multiple OSS sub-domains like Network Plan & Build, Network Inventory Management, Network Business Process & Workflow Management, Network & Service Activation/Provisioning, Service & Resource Orchestration /Fulfilment etc.
  • Will define and lead on solution architecture for above mentioned network OSS sub-domains following TMF ODA, NaaS and AN architecture principle.
  • Will work with enterprise architects, other BSS & OSS solution architects, solution designer, technical architect, software engineers, network users, and CFU stakeholders.
  • Will define architecture and drive network OSS capabilities and solution for Network as a Service (NaaS) exposure and Autonomous Networks (AN) level 4 & 5.
  • Will define OSS product feature, capabilities & wider integration architecture in one or more of the above-mentioned network OSS sub-domains for OSS products/tools/systems.
  • Will decide & describe implementation of solutions using right software technology and best implementation approach to achieve benefits of re-useability, maintainability, cost & time advantage etc.
  • Will use & adopt Telecom Standards such as TM Forum eTOM, SID, ODA, NaaS, Open APIs; ETSI MANO, Mplify NaaS and standards such as Netconf & IETF YANG in Network and OSS.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Must have working experience of Network OSS Solution Architecture in multiple OSS sub-domains like (1) Network Plan & Build, (2) Network Inventory Management, (3) Network Business Process & Workflow Management, (4) Network & Service Activation/Provisioning, (5) Service & Resource Orchestration/Fulfilment etc.
  • Must have experience of Fixed networks (IP, Access, Transmission), network technologies and SDN & NFV based network technologies.
  • Should have knowledge of fixed network products & services like broadband, ethernet, optical, IP VPN etc.
  • Should have good experience of software engineering and latest technologies used to realise networks OSS solutions & products, including micro-services architecture, cloud technologies and AI / Agentic AI.
  • Should have at least 18 years of professional experience and at least 5 years of working experience as Network OSS Solution Architect with good knowledge of networks, network technologies, network products & services and network OSS domains mentioned above.
  • Should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, quick learning ability and ability to come up with new innovations to be effective in the role of network OSS solution architect.
