About the role

Engineering is a large multi-disciplined ‘professional services’ engineering practice. The team is organised in key customer focused capabilities which each have sub-capability areas comprising single or multiple engineering delivery projects.

The purpose of this role is to Support the organisation by delivering customer networks, platforms and systems in support of ourselves and special customers.

Deliver and operate these services within agreed performance standards and contractual agreements whilst operating within agreed timescales and budgets.

What you will be doing

  • Defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work covering technical responsibilities.
  • Establish technical objectives and delegate responsibilities.
  • Influence a significant part of own organisation and influence customers/suppliers and industry at a senior management level (e.g. around resourcing of delivery teams and technical direction of work).
  • Direct work resourcing, own site issues and resolution of problems.
  • Perform technical coaching and mentorin.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential

  • Significant experience of technical delivery
  • leadership and delivery experience
  • Power system installation- AC & DC power systems, UPS, HVAC with current electrical qualifications.

Desirable

  • Clerk of Works experience and history of delivering construction projects and site upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Transmission Network and management platforms
  • Must have strong communication and client interfacing skills, with demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a manner understandable and useful to a business and executive audience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication (including strong technical writing skills), as well as presentation, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects, perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to clearly capture requirements
  • Innovative approach to technical solutions and service quality
  • Willingness to take ownership and show initiative to achieve results
