About the role

The Engineering Enablement Professional enables the successful operation and future development of BT's Radio and Satellite platforms by providing governance, strategic coordination and operational oversight across engineering, service, commercial and supplier functions.

The role ensures critical communications platforms remain secure, resilient, compliant and fit for purpose, while supporting innovation, service improvement and informed decision-making that delivers value for customers and BT.

What you’ll be doing

Support the platform strategy and lifecycle plan for Radio and Satellite technologies, services and supporting infrastructure.

• Aid on the delivery of technology roadmaps that align investment, obsolescence, capacity, resilience and customer demand.

• Monitor service performance, availability, risk and operational health, using data to identify priorities and drive improvement.

• Assist with supplier and contractual performance, challenging delivery, cost, quality and risk while maintaining productive partnerships.

• Undertake service improvement, problem management and root cause activity, converting lessons learned into sustainable corrective actions.

• Coordinate capacity planning and demand forecasting to ensure platforms can support current commitments and future opportunities.

• Create concise governance reporting for operational and senior stakeholders, translating complex technical issues into clear decisions and actions.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Platform and Technical Understanding

• Service performance, availability, reliability and resilience management.

• Risk and problem management awareness.

• Supplier and commercial management.

• Budget planning, forecasting and financial governance.

• Engineering change governance and operational assurance.

• Cyber security, vulnerability, compliance and risk management.

• Capacity planning, demand forecasting and performance analytics.

• Strong stakeholder engagement

• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical and platform outcomes.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Experience supporting or managing telecommunications, network, infrastructure or other critical technology systems.

• Demonstrable experience of platform or service lifecycle management in a complex operational environment.

• Experience of service performance, major incidents, escalations, problem management and continual improvement.

• Practical experience of supplier management, commercial governance or contractual performance management.

• Experience managing cyber, vulnerability, resilience, compliance or operational risks with clear remediation plans.

• Strong written and verbal communication, including governance papers, reporting and presentations for senior stakeholders.

• Proven ability to influence and coordinate multidisciplinary teams where priorities may compete.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Radio, Satellite, transmission, network management systems or critical national infrastructure.
  • Relevant technical, service management, commercial, project or risk qualification, or equivalent experience.
