Job Description

Location: Birmingham (this will be a field based role aligned contractually to our Birmingham Snowhill office, but supporting BT Local Business offices based in Birmingham and Coventry)

Why this job matters

BT Local Business comprises of 23 independent Licensee organisations. This role is critical to the delivery of a consistent customer sales experience, and sales revenue growth for our SMB market.


The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the BTLB aligns to BT strategy, represents the brand across their defined customer base, meets all contractual requirements, and ensure legal and commercial compliance is adhered to. The role holder is expected to be present within the businesses supported at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Accountable for creating and executing a Business and Sales plan for each of the Local Business to maximise the market opportunity within their territory.
  • Conduct weekly/30/60/90-day reviews to evaluate sales forecasts and agree the remedial steps to address performance through sales recovery plans in collaboration with the MD.
  • Review the financial viability of the LB and ensure cash flow forecasts align with Sales and Business plans. Coordinate financial audits.
  • Own the performance management of the MDs and LBs within their territory, and provides leadership to the LB owners ensuring the MDs have the optimum FTE sales distribution, and that retention plans are in place using LB employee engagement survey report outputs.
  • Leads as a consultant with the LBs on their customer contact strategy. Steps into the sales process to increase our win rate on opportunities & prospects.
  • Act as the lead and interface to manage the contractual and operational manual obligations between BT and the License holder.

What we would like to see on your CV

  • Experienced sales professional with evidence of consistent target achievement.
  • Previous track record working in an indirect sales or partner sales channel.
  • Able to demonstrate complex stakeholder (internal/external) management and virtual team leadership which has led to positive sales outcomes.
  • Ability to inspire and motive teams.
  • Demonstrative examples of commercial acumen and understanding of P&L/operations of an SME business.

Flexible working

BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location 3 days a week.
