We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regulatory Counsel to join our Spanish Hub Legal team, supporting telecommunications and IT regulatory compliance across Italy, the EU Nordics, and additional European jurisdictions.
This is a pivotal role within our international regulatory function, offering exposure to high-impact legal advisory work across multiple markets in a dynamic, innovation-driven sector.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our pan-European Regulatory team, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor on telecom and IT regulatory frameworks, focusing primarily on Italy and the Nordics, while supporting other regions as needed.
  • Advise on a broad range of regulatory topics, including:
    • Licensing and authorisation regimes
    • Numbering and call routing regulations

    • Interconnection and access rules
    • Price regulation and billing obligations
    • Law enforcement engagement (e.g. legal intercept, data retention, customer verification)
    • Cybersecurity, telco secrecy, and cloud regulation
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning – monitoring and evaluating upcoming legal enactments and legislative initiatives.
  • Support the business with regulatory risk assessment, compliance analysis, and documentation.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory obligations in relation to product launches, customer solutions, and standard terms.
  • Collaborate with legal peers and stakeholders across Europe on complex multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives within Legal, including legal tech tools and electronic reporting standards.

We are looking for a candidate who brings a combination of regulatory expertise, strategic thinking, and operational pragmatism.

Essential skills and experience

  • Fully qualified lawyer or regulatory expert with a strong track record in telecoms/IT law, ideally focused on Italy and/or Nordic countries.
  • Previous and relevant experience in a multinational company, regulatory authority, or international law firm dealing with this matters required.
  • Fluency in English (professional working proficiency) and strong command of Italian.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess legal risk and communicate complex issues clearly to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with European telecom frameworks and a proactive approach to legal change management.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, international environment.

Desirable

  • Experience with legal tech or digital legal operations tools.
  • High level of commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage diverse regulatory deliverables.

What’s in it for you

  • A high-impact role in a forward-thinking, pan-European regulatory function.
  • Collaboration with experienced legal professionals across Europe.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and cross-border professional development.

Join us

This role is more than legal support – it’s about shaping the future of telecoms compliance in Europe.
