Internal title for the role: Lead Work Order Practitioner (equal to Junior Project Manager externally)
Office Location: Bristol Only

This role is full time and includes 3 days on-site in the office and 2 days from home. Please note initially you will be expected to be in the office 5 days a week to support with your training and onboarding.

This role is about laying a strong Project Management foundation for you to build a career on. A great opportunity if you’ve previously had some exposure to Projects and experience in autonomous Project Delivery. There will be experienced Project & Programme Managers are by your side day-to-day helping you to develop your existing Project Management skills and experience.

You’ll work with huge government customers & corporate brands to support and deliver your own Work Orders and small Projects.

What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities:

  • Delivery – Delivery of Work Orders and small Projects to the Project & Programme Management Team as directed, on small Projects or individual Work Orders of varying size and complexity. This will involve owning delivery of Projects and Work Orders end-to-end (with a small to medium degree of risk) or delivering Work Orders or Projects as part of a wider Programme or Project Team.
  • Organising - Organising and controlling delivery activities, under the direction of a Project or Programme Manager. Ensure deadlines are met and documents are updated accurately. Tracking and ensuring actions are completed.
  • Stakeholders – Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across BT and your customer, at an appropriate level.
  • Methodologies - Following the necessary Programme & Project Management methodologies and processes to benefit now and in the future.
  • Tolerances - Delivering work to the necessary time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Risks and Issues - Managing risk and issues that are identified by managing a RAID log.
  • Resources - Booking and managing delivery resources. Where required, interface with 3rd party suppliers, which involves the agreement, planning, timelines and quality of deliverables.
  • Reporting & Governance - Providing status updates within BT and externally and producing Programme & Project governance.
  • Finances – Track Work Order and Project costs where required. Ensure completed requests are effectively closed out for invoicing. Identify and manage changes to scope and cost.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Knowledge of Project Delivery techniques or Project Management.
  • Experience of simple implementation delivery to achieve an outcome.
  • Able to maintain high standards of quality of work, personal presentation, personal conduct and punctuality at all times.
  • Willingness to learn and support others in the team.
  • An ability to engage people through verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Well organised and detailed orientated.
  • Demonstrate initiative.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Great communicator, able to form relationships and build rapport.
  • Determination and tenacity to deliver the right outcomes.
