In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work directly with key customers in leadership positions—such as IT Managers and Programme Managers—who will rely on you to lead crucial and high-profile projects. The impact of your team's work, along with the attitudes and behaviours you collectively demonstrate, will play a pivotal role in shaping the customer's overall experience. Ideally, you bring telecoms experience in areas like core network, WAN/LAN, or cloud voice/contact centre environments. You'll also be responsible for promoting and shaping project management methodologies and tools. Furthermore, you'll ensure that your team adheres to the governance and standards outlined by the PMO or contract requirements.


Office Locations Available – London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle (Gosforth), Southampton and Cardiff.

BT offers flexible working, a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.

You'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Accountable for leading the delivery of projects, programs, or portfolios that are large, complex, and represent significant benefit/risk to our customers. The delivery will be highly visible and recognizable.
  • Manages project risk for BT and customers by adapting recognized project management methods and processes to the risk profile and governance needs.
  • Ensures the PMO and resourcing functions have a clear line of sight of upcoming demand and contract requirements.
  • Act as a customer champion, establishing customer needs and using operational and technical expertise to deliver brilliant experiences by resolving customer issues with quality and timeliness.
  • Understand the customer's business context and the impact the program has on successful business outcomes.
  • Collaborates with Practice and Hub Managers, and the Client Services team to ensure consistent delivery to customers.

You'll have the following skills & experience:

  • Experience in delivering a broad range of IT and network technology across various industry sectors.
  • Experience in delivering projects with complex budgets of £1 million to £20 million, including professional services resources, hardware, etc.
  • Highly-developed project management skills with experience in delivering technical solutions to customers.
  • Commercially and financially astute, with the ability to seize opportunities to improve profit or generate new business.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with multiple internal and external partners to deliver great outcomes for our customers and business.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to connect with customers and understand the challenges their businesses face.
  • Ability to interpret commercial contracts and identify areas of risk/opportunity.
