What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Media and Social Media Monitoring: Create and deliver daily newsletter containing summarised coverage from national, regional, trade, broadcast and online sources around BT and the UK telecom industry
  • Social Media Listening: Build and maintain Brandwatch queries, keyword lists, and topic profiles
  • Media Report Creation: Translate media and social data into clear insights and actionable reports for CFUs and corporate teams
  • Cross‑functional Stakeholder Management: Work with Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Reporting & Insights, and Campaign teams.

Skills required for the job

  • Expertise in media monitoring, editorial judgement, and news summarisation
  • Ability to evaluate story relevance, impact, and risk for BT stakeholders
  • Expertise on Brandwatch or similar platforms (Talkwalker, Pulsar, Netbase, Sprinklr)
  • Ability to write concise and accurate summaries under time pressure
  • Strong analytical skills for both media and social data
  • Ability to create structured reporting outputs.
  • Excellent written communication — clarity, consistency, speed
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of telecom industry, competitors, and hyperscaler ecosystem (preferred)

Experience you would be expected to have

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience of working on Media monitoring or Social media listening tools
  • A Marketing qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • Typically degree and post graduate qualification in a related subject, e.g. Business or Marketing

Experience:

  • Mandatory: 3+ years’ demonstrable working experience of Media monitoring or Social media listening
  • Mandatory: Strong editorial experience in news summarisation, content curation, media monitoring or newsroom‑style workflows
  • Mandatory: Experience working with Brandwatch or equivalent tool
  • Mandatory: Strong familiarity and understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums, and Instagram
  • Preferred: Ability to work in daily recurring deadlines with high‑stakes deliverables
  • Preferred: Experience in telecom/technology domain

Eligibility Criteria-Please note that as per the IJP guidelines for India, if you have an active PIP/Disciplinary sanctions then you cannot apply for a role internally for the duration of that sanction. In circumstances when you are in a disciplinary process but the outcome hasn’t been reached or there is an active appeal then you can apply, however, the Offer could be withdrawn if, subsequently, you’re issued with a sanction or your appeal is unsuccessful.
It is the responsibility of an applicant to not apply to IJP in case if they are on an active PIP/ Disciplinary case/ Warnings or sanction. If such an applicant is found to have applied for a role, then, strong disciplinary action will be taken against that applicant.

Please note that there is a pay freeze in effect for May & June so if your date of movement is either of these months, though you will receive a new contract letter in accordance to your new role preceding your movement, it will not reflect any pay changes. Any changes in your compensation due to internal movement during May & June be effective 1st of July 26 (post APR process has taken place in June) & you will be given another letter in June to communicate the same.
