Roles and Responsibilities

  • The role holder will closely work with Network counterparts to come up with an agile planning and design process which helps BT deliver quickest way to expand the capacity as well optimise the network and use catalogue driven orchestration for Autoamted capacity planning and fulfilment journeys.
  • Prepare and review design documents and UML artefacts to support the solution architecture
  • Work closely with Platform Architect to implement the roadmap in respective domain and program.
  • Also, the role holder plays an important role in helping network teams embark into SDN/NFV world, design and deliver agile OSS solutions in line with that.
  • To analyze problems and propose solutions with high quality.
  • Design solutions that not only cater to current PNF world but also the next gen VNF and hybrid networks.
  • Design integration solutions using Catalogue driven approach and rule engines enabling users to view and modify the rules and business logic dynamically.
  • Understand Network and Service Inventory and contribute to the view to have single view of physical logical and Service inventory in single place.
  • Build solutions that are flexible, future proof, adhere to low/zero code platforms and aligned to industry standards like TMF SID, Open API and ODA.
  • May involve liaising with internal, external and third party suppliers.

Essential Skills

  • Superb knowledge of OSS Inventory modelling with specific experience around device structure, network topology and logical modelling.
  • Good understanding of BT’s OSS fulfilment, specifically 1) Hybrid multi technology resource Service & Resource Orchestration, Service Design & Assign, 2) Logical & Physical Resource Plan & Build and Technical inventory management areas of BT’s Networks.
  • Good understanding of Network domains and layers like Access, Backhaul and Core networks.
  • At least 5-6 years of working experience as solution designers and experience of designing and writing functional specification, system & interface specification,
  • HLD and Detailed design with rest of experience either in Development or Testing background.
  • Good understanding/experience of external Standards such as TMF, eTOM, ETSI and standards such as Netconf & YANG
  • Should possess good telecom OSS knowledge in areas like Planning, Inventory management, capacity management, orchestration and Activation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Service Design patterns implementation and knowledge

  • Working with large Telco service providers is a plus
  • Telecom certifications
  • Standards certifications like TM Forum
  • Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
