Customer Solutions Design Specialist (DWDM)

Daliy office attendance is required with occasional travel needs to other locations.

Must hold or be eligible to achieve SC-level Security Clearance.

About the role

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the design and governance of secure, resilient network solutions, ensuring they meet customer, security and operational requirements.
• Partner with customers and colleagues across sales, security, operations and technology to translate business needs into clear technical designs and delivery plans.
• Guide solutions through their full lifecycle, from early concepts and bid support through testing, acceptance and operational handover.
• Manage technical decisions, risks, dependencies and change requests so that solutions remain compliant, commercially viable and fit for purpose.
• Improve future network capabilities by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and identifying technologies that can strengthen performance, resilience and security.

Essential Skills / Experience

• DWDM solution design: The ability to design, assess or evolve DWDM-based network solutions within complex operational environments along with a range of cross connect technologies such as SDH,PDH & Ethernet.
• IP networking expertise: A strong practical understanding of IP networking and the ability to apply it when developing secure, reliable network designs.
• Technical leadership: The ability to lead technical discussions, explain complex information clearly and guide customers and delivery teams towards effective decisions.

Desirable Skills / Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be useful, but you do not need to have all of them to apply:

• SDH, PDH or OTN technologies
• Network Management Systems
• Secure operations centre, testing or laboratory environments
• Service provider or highly secure network environments
• ATM or FRATM technologies
• Architecture documentation, statements of work or technology roadmaps
