Job Description

Posting Date: 16-Apr-26

Function: Data & AI

Location: Bellandur, Bengaluru

Salary:Competitive

About the role

BT Digital’s Delivery Performance function is standardising how delivery is measured and improved. The next step is Agentic DMS—a set of safe, auditable AI agents that reason over Jira and related artefacts to reduce manual status work, improve elaboration quality, and surface risks early. We will start with high‑governance exemplars on key portfolios and scale across programmes once controls and value are proven.
What you’ll own (outcomes in the first 6–12 months)
• Agent use‑cases shipped: Deliver 2–3 production‑grade agents (e.g., status synthesis, baseline & scope change analyser, delivery‑risk early‑warning, standard compliance index, quality index score, semantic AI for elaboration) with measurable business impact and clear human‑in‑the‑loop controls. (Security, memory limits, and mistake‑propagation risks addressed per BT guidance.)
• Data & integration contracts: Stable contracts for Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/OneDrive knowledge, and Program/PMO packs, with lineage and auditability. (Align to existing DMS standards and taxonomy.)
• Safety & governance: A documented set of agent guardrails (prompt/policy, tool permissions, logging, red‑team tests) that meet BT’s transformation governance and delivery control expectations.
• Change & adoption: Playbooks and enablement for squads, PMs and Delivery Leads (how to use, when to rely, when to override); uplift elaboration quality and alignment to Quality Index Score/standards via assisted authoring.

What you’ll be doing

Product & strategy
• Shape the Agentic DMS capability roadmap: prioritise high‑value, high‑governance use‑cases (starting with model portfolios), define OKRs, and quantify value (time saved, risk avoided, follow up).
• Translate Delivery Performance needs (On time delivery, predictability, flow, QIS) into agent capabilities and evaluation metrics; ensure outputs integrate into decision forums and stage‑gate reporting.
Engineering & architecture
• Lead design and build of agent workflows (planning, tool‑use, memory) using BT‑approved platforms (e.g., Copilot Studio / Azure OpenAI, with secure connectors), or equivalent enterprise patterns. Control for context‑window limits, reproducibility, and error propagation.
• Build tool adapters (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/OneDrive) and retrieval layers; implement telemetry, feedback, and continuous evaluation harnesses for agents.
• Establish prompt & policy engineering standards (guardrails, escalation to human, non‑destructive tool scopes), aligned to BT security and delivery‑control frameworks.

Data, controls & compliance
• Define data contracts and lineage for every agent action: source, transformation, and decision trace; implement audit logs for ExCo/PMO confidence.
• Partner with Security/Legal/Data to operationalise safe tool permissions and least‑privilege execution for agents; run red‑team exercises against injection/exfiltration vectors identified in internal guidance.
Adoption & change
• Co‑create training and enablement kits so squads can follow agents without losing accountability; codify “how to review/override” behaviours; contribute to Wayfinder/guidance updates.
• Convey results with crisp, EXCO‑ready packs; bring insight back into standards and the DMS taxonomy.

Essential Skills / Experience

Essential to have:
• Shipped agentic systems in enterprise environments (planning + multi‑tool use), or complex copilots with measurable impact and human‑in‑the‑loop control.
• LLM engineering: prompt/policy design, toolformer/MCP‑style patterns, function‑calling, structured output, RAG, memory strategies; comfort with Python or TypeScript. (Understands context limits, non‑determinism, safety trade‑offs.)
• Integrations: Jira/Confluence APIs, Graph/SharePoint/OneDrive content stores; eventing, data contracts, testing in CI.
• Governance & measurement: can evidence how agent outputs roll up to delivery metrics, stage‑gates and PMO reporting (benefits, risk, decision logs).
• Change leadership: partnering with Delivery Leads/PMO to embed new ways of working; building clear playbooks and running enablement.
Nice to have:
• Azure OpenAI/Azure AI Studio or Copilot Studio experience; experience with enterprise key‑management and least‑privilege tool execution.
• Experience improving elaboration quality and QIS with AI‑assisted content transformation.
• Familiarity with BT’s delivery control / governance and/or experience in leveraging tooling for portfolio governance in complex delivery environments
What success looks like:
• Adoption & satisfaction: recurring use by target teams; positive “would recommend” in user surveys.
• Quality & trust: override rate trends down with guardrails; decision trails auditable end‑to‑end.
• Impact: reduced effort for status and synthesis; earlier identification of slippage/scope risk in stage‑gates; improved elaboration quality signals.
