Job Description

We are seeking a leader for our strong economics practice. The ideal candidate is likely currently an Associate Director (or equivalent) with their eye on promotion to Director, or an existing Director (or equivalent) looking for a new challenge in a smaller, growing firm.

About Bradshaw Advisory

Bradshaw Advisory is a cross between a think tank, an economics and data consultancy, and a public affairs agency. We work on a variety of projects from the Levelling Up Fund, Future Nuclear Enabling Fund and Freeport applications to running the Global Britain Commission and the Inclusive Growth Commission, as well as delivering high-impact campaigns for private clients often centred around research reports and new analysis/modelling. We serve world-leading companies in a variety of industries (we are particularly strong in the built environment sector), central and local government, and trade bodies. A diversity of work provides you and the team with plenty of development opportunities.

This is a fantastic time to join us in our growth journey. We are a small firm with big ambitions. We continue to grow year on year, and this brings opportunities for our team/you. We push back on boring corporate culture and detest bureaucracy. We are a fun bunch, and our clients appreciate this. We operate like a startup and will retain this small company culture. We are a team and operate a flat structure with as little hierarchy as possible. We’re absolutely a meritocracy, and your efforts will be rewarded in a timely fashion as we continually assess pay and benefits. You will be provided with autonomy and responsibility (whilst being fully supported) from day one and have the opportunity to make a sizable impact.

We all work a 4-day week to enjoy a 3-day weekend and emphasise the importance of our people having a healthy life balance. All colleagues get a generous annual leave allowance and bank holidays can be flexed. We provide a healthy budget to pursue learning opportunities.

Our offer

  • £75,000 to £100,000 Full Time Equivalent (FTE). £62,000 to £80,000 for 4 days per week (we all work 30 hours Mon-Thurs). The offer is dependent on experience and performance during the hiring process
  • Regular, timely pay reviews based on merit, with the first potential for a pay rise upon passing your six-month probationary period
  • Uncapped sales bonus of 10% above 125% of your pro-rated gross salary
  • £3,000 bonus if the company hits this year’s revenue target
  • Options allocated via our Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI) scheme, providing you with a stake in the company to benefit from our growth in the most tax-efficient manner
  • 34 days FTE annual leave (27.2 pro-rated) plus (non-pro-rated) flexy bank holidays
  • Generous learning and development budget (multiple thousands per year)
  • Your choice of a high-spec Apple or Samsung laptop
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • Very flexible work - choose the working pattern you prefer
  • Work from abroad when you like
  • London (the Strand) and Manchester (Ancoats) offices to use as you wish
  • Part-time options (e.g. 3 days per week, if you prefer)
  • Private health care for you and your family, and an employee assistance programme (EAP)
  • Four away days per year, including abroad and 5* hotels
  • Bonus week of holiday at 3 years and a paid 4-week mini-sabbatical at 5 years
  • Enhanced paternity and maternity leave and pay including new child bonus
  • Salary sacrifice electric vehicle and childcare options (other salary sacrifice options available upon request)
